Naval Dockyard Mumbai Apprentice Salary and Stipend

Naval Dockyard Mumbai Apprentice Physical Standards

Candidates should satisfy the minimum standards of physical fitness under Rule A and Schedule II of the Apprentices Rules 1992:

• Free from Tuberculosis, contagious/infectious diseases and any disease likely to be aggravated by service causing danger to public health.
• Height: 137 cms minimum. Weight: 25.4 Kgs minimum. Chest expansion: 3.8 cms minimum.
• Eyes: free from morbidity of either eye or eyelids.
• Free from any other chronic illness of the Alimentary System, Cardio Vascular, Respiratory System, Genito-Urinary System, Skeletal System, Nervous System, Glandular System, Ears, Skin and Speech.

Naval Dockyard Mumbai Apprentice Selection Process

Selection is carried out as per extant guidelines of the Competent Authority. The stages are as follows.

• Screening of applications: Naval Dockyard Mumbai will not carry out detailed scrutiny of online applications before the examination. Detailed scrutiny of documents is done at a subsequent stage.
• Shortlisting: Fulfilling the basic criteria does not automatically entitle a candidate to the written examination. If applications are too many in proportion to vacancies, the authority may shortlist applications, in the ratio of 1:25 for every available vacancy in each trade and category.
• Merit calculation: Equal weightage (50:50) is given to marks in Class 10th from a recognised Board and marks in the ITI consolidated statement of marks for AITT issued by NCVET. For Crane Operator (SI), 100% weightage is given to Class 10th. For Rigger, 100% weightage is given to Class 8th.
• Written examination: Objective type, OMR format, as described below.

1. Visit https://www.apprenticeshipregistration.com and download the online application guidelines before filling in the form.
2. Check that you meet the educational qualification and other criteria. Candidates from a Board or institution using the grade point system must get grade points converted into percentage of marks by the appropriate authority, or use a conversion chart from the respective Board. If unavailable, the lowest percentage of the grade point will be considered for shortlisting.
3. Keep your valid and active email ID and mobile number ready. No change in the email ID or mobile number is allowed once entered.
4. Write your Name and Date of Birth strictly as given in the matriculation certificate. Otherwise the candidature may be cancelled.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Previous training: Candidates undergoing apprenticeship in any Govt./Public Sector/Private industrial organisation must terminate their ongoing contract through the MSDE Portal before applying, and must have fulfilled any cooling down criterion if applicable.
• Multiple applications: Do not submit multiple applications. If more than one is submitted, the one with the higher application number, if complete in all respects, is the only one considered.
• Provisional candidature: Applications are accepted provisionally. False or incorrect information leads to cancellation without prejudice to legal action.
• Caste certificates: SC/ST candidates must hold a latest caste certificate and produce the original on demand. OBC candidates must produce a valid caste certificate stating they do not belong to the creamy layer, in the format under GoI DoP&T OM 36033/1/2013-Estt(Res) dated 27 May 2013 and 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res) dated 30 May 2014. If the OBC(NCL) certificate is not in the prescribed format or outside its validity period, the candidate is treated as General.
• Applying early: Apply well before the closing date. Naval Dockyard Mumbai is not responsible for mistakes in the online application or for non-receipt of communication on the registered mobile number/email.
