NIT Agartala Professor (HAG Scale) Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
• Essential Requirements: Six years as Professor in Level 14 or equivalent or Level 14A or equivalent or a combination of service in Level 14 and Level 14A in an Institute of National Importance.
• Cumulative Essential Credit Points: 150
• Additional Criteria: As per Schedule "E" of the First Statutes of the NIT (Amendment Statutes, 2023) and approved guidelines of MoE vide letter No. F.35-2/2018-TS-III dated 26th July 2018 and F.No.33-9/2011-TS-III dated 16th April 2019.

Salary/ Stipend

• Pay Level 15 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Central Pay Commission or any other corresponding pay scale or pay level approved by the Central Government or the Council.

How to Apply

• Candidates are required to download the application format, credit point format, guidelines, etc. from the Institute website http://www.nita.ac.in.
• Submit the filled application along with filled-up credit points and supporting documents as per annexures.
• Hard copy of the complete application must reach the office of Registrar, NIT Agartala by 06-01-2026.
• The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as: "APPLICATION FOR UPGRADATION OF PROFESSOR TO PROFESSOR (HAG SCALE, PAY LEVEL 15)".
• Candidature will be considered only on receipt of hard copy of application by the due date.

General Information/Instructions

• Eligibility and experience shall be determined as on the last date of submission of application (15/01/2026).
• Supporting documents for contribution to Institute/departmental administration should be recommended by concerned Head or Chairman and approved by the Director.
• The credit point system as per Schedule E and clarifications as per recommendations of Oversight Committee issued by MHRD dated 16.04.2019 shall be applicable.
• No document issued after the closing date shall be considered for credit points.
• Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
• The Institute reserves the right to modify/defer or cancel the notification at any stage.
• Self-attested copies of degree certificates, mark sheets, and experience certificates are required.
