The Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar has invited applications for the post of Assistant on a contractual basis in various Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) functioning under the university. OUAT Assistant Vacancy Details 2026

As per the official advertisement, 31 posts of Assistant are to be filled across KVKs under OUAT. The category-wise reservation breakup given in the notification is reproduced below.

Note: The advertisement also carries a separate "Total" reservation row showing ST-07, UR-16, SC-05, SEBC-03, Total-31, PWD-01. The scanned notification is not fully clear on how the two rows reconcile, so candidates are advised to verify the exact category-wise breakup from the official notification PDF on ouat.ac.in or at the time of application. W = Women; one PWD candidate will be considered from any of the above categories on a horizontal basis, and the reservation break-up may change as per government orders.

OUAT Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

• Essential qualification: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university.
• Candidates must specifically indicate the percentage of marks obtained (calculated to the nearest two decimals) in the relevant column of the application form.
• Candidates must produce a certificate/document issued by the university evidencing the conversion formula (e.g., CGPA to percentage), if called for document verification.

Age Limit

SEBC candidates must furnish a "Non-Creamy Layer" certificate for the current year.

Other Eligibility Condition

The candidate must have passed Odia as one of the subjects up to the 7th Standard. A certificate to this effect must be attached with the application.

OUAT Assistant Salary 2026 (Pay Scale)

The Assistant post carries the following pay scale as per the notification:

• Level-9, Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400/- (as per 7th Pay Commission)
• Or, PB-2, Pay Rs. 9,300 - 34,800/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 4,200/- (pre-revised Pay Band and Grade Pay under 6th CPC)
• Or, as prescribed by the funding agency (ICAR) from time to time

The notification clarifies that the pay and pay scale are subject to change based on revisions notified/communicated by ICAR or other funding agencies, applicable prospectively.

OUAT Assistant Application Fee 2026

Candidates must attach a duly signed photocopy of the deposit receipt along with the application form. No other mode of payment for the application fee will be considered.

OUAT Assistant Selection Process 2026

Selection is based on a written test only, followed by a qualifying skill test.

Written Test Pattern

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Skill Test

Candidates will be called for the skill test at a 1:4 ratio from the merit list prepared on the basis of written test marks. The skill test evaluates proficiency in computer applications and office automation tools. It is qualifying in nature only - there are no marks for the skill test, and the final merit panel is prepared based solely on written test marks, subject to qualifying the skill test.

Tie-Breaker Rules

Where two or more candidates secure equal aggregate marks, merit will be determined as follows:

1. The candidate securing more marks in the written test is ranked higher.
2. If written test marks are equal, the candidate senior in age is ranked higher.
3. If both (a) and (b) are equal, the tie is resolved based on the percentage of marks secured in the Degree programme.

Documents Required for OUAT Assistant Application

• Duly filled application form (Annexure-II) with two recent passport-size color photographs affixed
• Self-attested copies of all certificates and mark sheets from H.S.C. (Matriculation) onwards
• Self-attested copy of Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/SEBC candidates, from competent authority)
• Self-attested copy of Non-Creamy Layer certificate (for SEBC candidates, current year)
• Self-attested copy of Disability Certificate (for PWD candidates, from competent authority)
• Declaration regarding marital status (that not more than one spouse is living, in case of married candidates)
• Documentary proof of experience, if any, with certificates/orders of previous/present employment
• Original counterfoil/duly signed photocopy of the application fee deposit receipt
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer, for in-service candidates
• Certificate of having passed Odia as a subject up to 7th Standard

How to Apply for OUAT Assistant Recruitment 2026

1. Download the prescribed application form (Annexure-II) and information sheet from the official OUAT website: www.ouat.ac.in.
2. Fill in the application form completely and legibly in block capitals where required.
3. Deposit the application fee of Rs. 500/- through GCC/internet banking/RTGS as detailed in the fee section above.
4. Attach self-attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, category/disability certificates (as applicable), and the fee deposit receipt.
5. Paste two recent passport-size color photographs on the form.
6. In-service candidates must route their application through proper channel and submit an advance copy of the original application, along with an NOC from their employer within one month of the last date of application.
7. Superscribe the envelope with "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT" along with the advertisement number and date.
8. Send the complete application by Speed Post or Registered Post to: The Registrar, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar-751003, Odisha.
9. Ensure the application reaches the Registrar's office on or before 5:00 PM, 12 August 2026.

Note for earlier applicants: Candidates who had already applied against advertisement No. 1354/UAT dated 22.01.2019 need not apply again. However, they may submit supplementary information/documents, if any, in support of their candidature by Speed Post/Registered Post to reach the Registrar on or before 5:00 PM, 12 August 2026.

Important Instructions and Terms & Conditions

• Applications received after the due date and time will not be entertained. The university is not responsible for any loss or delay in postal transit.
• Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
• KVK employees are Contractual Project Staff for as long as 100% funding from ICAR continues.
• KVK employees are not entitled to terminal benefits, and their service is coterminous with the central project, i.e., for as long as 100% funds are made available by ICAR.
• Neither the State Government nor OUAT will bear any liability pertaining to KVK employment.
• Transfer of KVK employees will be within the KVKs only.
• On appointment, the candidate must serve in the KVK for a minimum period of one year and may need to furnish an undertaking to this effect at the time of joining. To resign thereafter, the employee must give one month's prior notice, failing which one month's salary must be deposited.
• If sufficient eligible women candidates are not available in a particular category in a given year, the vacancy will be filled by a male candidate of that same category.
• No TA/DA will be paid by the university for appearing in the written test.
• The university reserves the right to cancel the selection process due to unforeseen circumstances or to not fill some or all of the advertised posts, without assigning any reason.
• Furnishing false information or suppression of factual information will lead to disqualification/termination, even if detected later during service.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
