RBI Assistant Syllabus 2026: Exam Pattern, Topics, and Preparation Tips
The RBI Assistant recruitment for Panel Year 2025 has been announced, inviting applications for 650 posts across various offices in India. The process begins with the application window opening on February 16, 2026, and closing on March 08, 2026.
The RBI Assistant syllabus 2026 covers Prelims and Mains sections like English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge, along with exam pattern and Language Proficiency Test (LPT) details.
The exam is conducted in three stages: Prelims, Mains, and LPT. Candidates must clear each stage separately.

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2026 (Prelims & Mains)
Both Prelims and Mains include negative marking of ¼ (0.25) for each wrong answer. Prelims is qualifying in nature; Mains scores contribute to final merit.

- Numerical Ability: Simplification & Approximation, Quadratic Equations, Number Series, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, SI/CI, Data Interpretation (Tables, Bar, Line, Pie), Mensuration Basics.
- Reasoning Ability: Number/Letter Series, Syllogism, Inequalities, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Seating Arrangement (Linear/Circular), Puzzles, Ranking, Data Sufficiency.

RBI Assistant Mains Syllabus 2026
- Test of Reasoning: Advanced Puzzles (Floor, Box, Scheduling), Input-Output, Logical Reasoning (Statement-Assumption, Argument, Inference), High-level Data Sufficiency, Critical Reasoning, Syllogism with Inequalities, Machine Input-Output.
- Test of English Language: Detailed RC, Vocabulary (Syn/Ant, Idioms), Inference Questions, Para Completion, Para Summary, Advanced Error Spotting, Sentence Rearrangement.
- Test of Numerical Ability / Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic (Percentage, Ratio, Average, Mixture, Partnership, Profit & Loss, SI/CI, TSD), Data Interpretation (Caselets, Missing DI), Data Sufficiency, Quadratic Equations, Number Series, Word Problems.
- Test of General Awareness: Banking Awareness (RBI Functions, Monetary Policy), Financial & Economic News, Govt Schemes (PMJDY, PMAY,…), Static GK, Current Affairs (last 4–6 months), Basic Economy/Banking Terms.
- Test of Computer Knowledge: Computer Fundamentals, History & Generations, Hardware/Software, I/O Devices, OS, MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT), Internet, Networking, Email, Database Basics, Shortcut Keys.
Language Proficiency Test (LPT) Details
After Mains → Shortlisted candidates undergo LPT in the official/local language of the applied state/office. Tests reading, writing, speaking & understanding. Mandatory & qualifying. No exemptions.
