RCF Kapurthala Apprentice Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 system) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board, and must also possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).

Where results are shown as CGPA, the percentage is calculated by multiplying the CGPA by 9.5. For example, a CGPA of 7.4 converts to 70.3% (7.4 × 9.5). If matriculation marks are 70% and ITI marks are 80%, the combined average used for the merit list would be (70+80)/2 = 75%.

Candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 05.09.2026.

Candidates claiming reservation benefits must produce the relevant caste, non-creamy layer, disability, or discharge certificate, as applicable, issued by the appropriate authority at the time of document verification.

RCF Kapurthala Apprentice Salary/Stipend

• As per extant rules & directives issued by Railway Board from time to time.
• No Hostel accommodation will be provided and selected candidates will have to make their own arrangement during their training as per Apprentices Act. 1961 and they will be released on completion of the training.

RCF Kapurthala Apprentice Selection Process

Selection is based on a merit list, without any written examination or interview, prepared as follows:

• The merit list is based on the simple average of the percentage of marks in matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and the percentage of marks in the ITI/NTC certificate for the relevant trade.
• Matriculation percentage is calculated using marks obtained in all subjects, not just a selected group of subjects.
• In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate is preferred; if the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is preferred.
• A final merit list is prepared trade-wise and community-wise, in descending order of marks, equal to the number of available seats.
• Shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification, where original certificates and a medical fitness certificate are checked. Call letters for document verification may be issued to up to 1.5 times the number of identified slots.
• Selected candidates must also be found medically fit as per the standards prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

2. Locate the online application link for Act Apprentice engagement and follow the detailed instructions provided on the website.
3. Register and fill in personal details and bio-data carefully, ensuring the name, father's name, and date of birth exactly match the matriculation certificate.
4. Upload a scanned passport-size colour photograph (3.5cm x 3.5cm, taken within the last 3 months, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, file size 20 kb–70 kb, without cap or sunglasses).
5. Upload a scanned signature (3.5cm x 3.5cm, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, file size 20 kb–30 kb).
6. Review all entered details, since no changes or edits are allowed after fee payment.
7. Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- online (if applicable) within 2 working days of completing the form, using the payment link provided.
8. Submit the application and save/print the e-receipt and the completed application form for future reference.
