Eligibility Criteria for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025
Educational Qualification (as on 02.03.2026):
- (a) Candidates must already have the Educational/Technical qualifications prescribed in the CEN from recognized Board/Institute/University as on the last date (i.e. 02.03.2026) for submission of ONLINE application.
- Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.
- Diploma /Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1 unless otherwise specified. Graduate Act apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).
NOTE: The educational certificates viz. Provisional or Regular Certificates should contain the date of issue. In case, date of issue of these certificates is after the closing date of the notification, then the consolidated marks sheet with date of declaration of the final qualifying exam or individual mark sheets of all the semesters/years with date of declaration of each semester /year result should be submitted. In case of non-availability of date in any of these certificates, then a certificate indicating date of declaration of result from the Board/University/Institute to this effect should be produced at the time of DV.
NATIONALITY / CITIZENSHIP
4.1 A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a citizen of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01.01.1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
(vi) Candidates belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be persons in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination provisionally, but the certificate issued by the Government of India must be produced at the time of Document Verification, failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.

Application Fee for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025
Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their category, detailed below:
- For all candidates (except categories mentioned below at Sl. No. 2). Out of this fee of ₹ 500/-, an amount of ₹ 400/- shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in CBT.
- For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC)*. (Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS. This fee of ₹ 250/- shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in CBT.
MODES OF FEE PAYMENT
- Only ONLINE fee payment through internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI will be accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate.
- Fee can be paid only through ONLINE mode; no other mode of payment is available.
- Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and will be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.
Minorities shall include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) subject to revision/deletion/inclusion if any, received till the last date for submission of online application (02.03.2026). Affidavit for 'Minority Community Declaration': Minority candidates claiming waiver of examination fee will be required to furnish an affidavit (as per Annexure IV) on non-judicial stamp paper mentioning their minority community at the time of DV, failing which their candidature is liable to be rejected.
Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates are those whose annual family income is less than Rs. 50,000 and are eligible for concessional fee (as per para 7.0 above). For this, they should have a) Valid Income Certificate on the date of application in the prescribed format (as per Annexure III A) on the letterhead of the Issuing Authority. The following authorities are authorized to issue income certificate for the purpose of identifying economically backward classes: (1) District magistrate or any other Revenue Officer up to the level of Tahsildar. (2) Sitting Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha for persons of their own Constituency. (3) Sitting Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for persons of the district in which these MPs normally reside. (4) Union Minister for any persons from anywhere in the country.(OR) b) BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme (OR) c) Izzat MST issued by Railways.
All EBC candidates who seek concessional fee, should fill in the relevant details of valid EBC certificate/BPL card/Izzat MST in the ONLINE application and the same must also be submitted in original, at the time of DV, failing which their candidature is liable to be rejected.
REFUND OF EXAMINATION FEE
a) Refund (duly deducting bank charges as applicable) of examination fees, wherever applicable, shall be credited only to the bank account seeded with the candidate’s Aadhaar number. During the application process, candidates will be required to validate their Aadhaar number. Upon successful validation, the bank account already linked with Aadhaar will be automatically shown for confirmation, which will be used for refund purposes. If no bank account is found to be seeded with Aadhaar, the candidate will be redirected to the NPCI portal for real-time Aadhaar–bank account linking and, thereafter, returned to the application page to complete the process. Candidates not holding a bank account may provide a family member’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account, as per the above prescribed procedure.
b) The examination fee paid by the candidates whose application is incomplete or those who have not submitted their application or whose application is rejected, will not be refunded.
c) The responsibility for ensuring linkage of a valid and operational Aadhaar-seeded bank account rests solely with the candidate. RRB shall not entertain any correspondence or claims arising out of incorrect, invalid, or non-operational bank account linkage.
d) No refund of examination fee shall be admissible in cases of rejected applications or where the Aadhaar-seeded bank account linked by the candidate is found to be non-operational.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS – EXAMINATION PROCESSES
- Stages of Exam: Single stage Computer Based Test (CBT). Railway Administration reserves the right to conduct the CBT in single or multi stage mode. Candidates qualifying in CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET) followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.
- Call Letters: Candidates must download City and Date Intimations, e-Call Letters and Travel Authority (wherever applicable) from official RRB/RRC websites.
- Short Listing for PET: Railway/RRC wise shortlisting for PET will be at the rate of three times the vacancies (may vary as per requirement). Shortlisting will be based on CBT merit; normalisation of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
- Shortlisting for DV & ME: Done Railway/RRC wise at 1:1 of the vacancies, based on merit in CBT and qualification in PET. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through official RRC websites, SMS and email to download e-call letters for DV.
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for every wrong answer in CBTs.
- Calling more candidates: More candidates than the notified vacancies may be called for PET and subsequent stages to account for absentees and other exigencies. Qualifying PET, DV and Medical Examination does not guarantee empanelment or appointment.
- Malpractices: Use of unfair means, impersonation or sending someone else in the exam will lead to lifetime debarment from all RRB/RRC examinations, denial of appointment and legal prosecution as per “The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024”.
- Banned items: Mobile phones, pager, watches, earphone, Bluetooth devices, microphone, health bands, calculators, book, pen, paper, pencil, eraser, pouch, scale, writing-pad, belts, handbag, cap, purse, camera, water bottle, packaged/open food items, etc. are not allowed inside the test centre. Only e-call letter is allowed. Pen will be provided at the centre. Candidates are advised not to apply Henna on hands/feet as it obstructs biometric capture.
- Cloak room: Cloak room arrangements may not be available. Candidates are advised not to bring valuables/banned items including mobile phones to the exam venue.
MODIFICATION OF APPLICATION:
- (a) After the final submission of the ONLINE application, if a candidate wishes to further modify any details, except details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and Email ID) and Chosen RRB, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion. Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and Email ID) and Chosen RRB cannot be changed.
- (b) The modification fee is to be paid by all candidates irrespective of community and category.
- (c) In the case of a candidate modifying his community from SC/ST to UR/OBC/EWS, he will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. Rs.250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, his modified application will not be accepted.
- (d) Similarly, if a candidate is switching from ExSM/Female/Transgender/PwBD to Non Ex.SM/Non PwBD/Male etc., he will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e., Rs. 250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, his modified application will not be accepted.
- (e) Modifications of ONLINE application will be allowed any number of times on payment of the modification fee for each occasion.
- (f) ONLINE Modifications to the ONLINE application, along with the payment of the modification fee, will be permitted up to 10 (ten) days after the Last Date for Application fee payment for the submitted applications, i.e. 04.03.2026 (23:59 hrs) for this CEN. The modification window will remain open from 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026 (23:59 hrs). After this period, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information furnished in the application.
INVALID APPLICATIONS / REJECTIONS:
- Online applications will be liable for rejection on the following grounds amongst others: Multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB: In such case, all the applications will be rejected summarily and such candidates will be debarred from all future RRB and RRC exams.
- Non-compliance to instructions given at para 16.4 for capturing live photo image of the candidate will lead to rejection of the candidature at any stage of the recruitment process.
- Non-compliance to instructions given for uploading signature under 16.5 will result in rejection of the candidature at any stage of the examination.
- Candidate's name figuring in the debarred list of any RRB/RRC. Any other irregularity including the deviations listed in above paras under 19.0(a) which is/are found during application scrutiny stage, before/after issue of e-call letters for CBT/PET or during Document verification.
- Rejected Applications: Details of rejected applications can be viewed on the website of the RRB concerned by logging in, along with the reason(s) for rejection which will be final and binding and no further correspondence shall be entertained on the subject. No refund of examination fee will be made on account of rejection of applications.
Instructions Related to E-Call letter:
- Information and details regarding the CBT/PET/DV schedules and link for downloading the E-call letters will be given on the websites of the RRBs/RRCs. Eligible candidates will also be informed via SMS and email. However, candidates should regularly visit the official websites of RRBs/ RRCs as there can be failure in delivery of SMS/E-mail to the candidates due to reasons beyond control of RRBs/RRCs
- Eligible candidates and scribes (where applicable) can download their e-call letter for the CBT from the RRB websites as given at Para 24.0 (A) about 4 (four) days before the date of CBT. However, intimation about the city of examination shall be given about 10 (ten) days in advance.
- No call letter will be sent to candidates by post. Detailed information and instructions regarding the CBT/PET/DV will be given along with the e-call letter. Candidates should read and follow them scrupulously. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to their disqualification.
- Free Travel Facility: In case of SC & ST candidates who are eligible and opt for free train travel, their e-call letter itself will contain the free travel authority (sleeper class railway pass). Such SC & ST candidates will be allowed to book train reservation by submitting a self-attested photocopy of their e-call letter and SC/ST certificate at the ticket booking counter. During the journey, SC & ST candidates should carry their original community certificate and an original prescribed proof of identity for undertaking journey failing which they will be treated as travelling without ticket and charged accordingly.
- During the examination, candidates must bring their e-call letters along with a valid ORIGINAL Photo ID (viz., Voter ID-Card, Aadhaar card, printout of e- Aadhaar, driving license, PAN card, passport, valid identity card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a govt. employee, School / College / University photo ID card (if still studying), etc.) to the examination hall, failing which the candidates shall NOT be allowed to appear in the examination.
- During the CBT/PET/DV/ME, candidates must bring a colour passport photograph that is not older than two months from the date of the CBT/PET/DV/ME, as applicable.
- Warning: Candidates will have to write the paragraph of Self-Declaration, sign and affix LTI on the e-call letter at the venue of the CBT in the presence of the invigilator at the Examination Hall ONLY and hand over the same to the invigilator before the conclusion of the examination. Candidates writing the self-declaration paragraph in advance and/or signing in CAPITAL letters will be rejected.
MISCELLANEOUS:
- Candidates are advised to check the official RRB/ RRC websites regularly for Amendments/Corrigendum/Notices.
- Biometric details of candidates will be recorded at every stage of the recruitment process. In case of any mismatch, RRBs/RRCs concerned shall reserve the right to disqualify a candidate and take appropriate legal action on that basis.
- RRBs/RRCs/Railway Zones also reserve the right to conduct additional authentication procedures to cross-verify the identity and carry out background checks of any candidate.
- RRBs/RRCs reserve the right to conduct additional CBT/ PET / DV (as required) at any stage. RRBs/RRCs also reserve the right to cancel part or whole of any recruitment process at any stage for any of the categories notified in this CEN without assigning any reason thereof.
- The decision of RRBs/RRCs in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of ONLINE applications, issue of free Rail Passes, penal action for false information, modification of vacancies, mode of selection, conduct of CBT, allotment of examination centers, selection, allotment of posts to selected candidates etc., will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained by the RRBs/RRCs in this regard.
- RRBs will not be responsible for any inadvertent/typographical errors and reserves the right to correct such errors. Due to inadvertent /typographical error(s), if any candidate is either shortlisted for CBTs/DV or result declared or empaneled or appointed, RRB reserves the right to cancel / modify the results and also cancel / modify empanelment of such candidates and if already appointed, he/she shall be liable to be removed from service, duly ensuring principle of merit and equality of opportunity, as a fundamental basis.
- Any legal issues arising out of this CEN after the application of the candidate is provisionally accepted and he/she has received e-call letter to CBTs, shall fall within the legal jurisdiction of respective Central Administrative Tribunal/High Court under which the candidate’s chosen RRB concerned is located. However, in case of rejection of the candidate’s candidature due to rejection of application on account of any reason whatsoever, then, any legal issues arising out of this CEN, shall fall within the legal jurisdiction of Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Jabalpur/High Court for the State of Madhya Pradesh.
- In the event of any dispute about interpretation, the English version of the notification and subsequent Amendments/Corrigendum /Notices as published in the RRB/RRC websites will be treated as final.

Selection Process for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025
The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:
- Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME)
Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- The CBT will be of objective type with multiple choice questions.
- The standard of questions for the CBT will generally be in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts.
- Questions will be aimed at assessing the candidate’s general awareness, reasoning ability, mathematics and relevant subject knowledge, as applicable.
- The question paper will be set in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages as detailed in Para 16.3(d) of this CEN.
- There will be negative marking in the CBT and one-third (1/3rd) of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for every wrong answer.
Shortlisting for Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Based on the merit of candidates in the CBT, Railway/RRC wise shortlisting for PET shall be done at the rate of three times the vacancies; this ratio may be increased or decreased at the discretion of the Railway Administration.
- Normalisation of marks will be done where CBT is conducted in multiple shifts, as per the formula prescribed by the Government of India.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for PET as per their merit and community/category, subject to availability of vacancies.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- PET is qualifying in nature and no marks will be awarded.
- PET standards for male and female candidates will be notified separately in this CEN and on RRB/RRC websites.
- Candidates must qualify PET as per the prescribed criteria; those failing in PET will be disqualified from further stages.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from PET and will be called directly for Document Verification, subject to qualifying in CBT and meeting all other eligibility conditions.
Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME)
- Candidates equal to the number of vacancies (1:1) will be called for DV and ME based on their merit in CBT and qualification in PET (where applicable), following applicable reservation rules.
- During DV, candidates must produce all original documents supporting their educational qualifications, age, caste/category, PwBD status, ExSM, CCAA and other claims made in the application, along with self-attested copies.
- Failure to produce original documents on the date of DV will result in forfeiture of candidature.
- After successful DV, candidates will be sent for medical examination to assess their fitness as per the prescribed medical standards (IRMM) for the post(s) opted.
- Only those found medically fit for the post(s) will be considered for inclusion in the final panel.
Preparation of Final Panel and Allotment
- The final panel will be prepared Railway/RRC wise, strictly on the basis of merit in CBT, subject to qualifying PET (where applicable), DV, ME and fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.
- If two or more candidates secure the same marks, the tie will be resolved by:
- placing the older candidate (by age) higher in merit; and
- if age is the same, by alphabetical order (A to Z) of the candidate’s first name as mentioned in the application.
- The role of RRBs/RRCs is to recommend names of suitable candidates; appointment letters will be issued by the concerned Zonal Railways/Production Units, subject to vacancy availability and satisfactory verification of character and antecedents.
- Empanelment does not confer any right to appointment; the decision of the Railway Administration shall be final and binding.
Miscellaneous Provisions
- RRBs/RRCs reserve the right to conduct additional CBTs, PETs or DVs, if considered necessary, without assigning any reason.
- Railway Administration reserves the right to increase or decrease vacancies or cancel part or whole of the recruitment process at any stage without assigning any reason.
- Candidates are liable to be disqualified and debarred from all future RRB/RRC examinations in case of misconduct, impersonation, use of unfair means or submission of false information/documents.
MEDICAL STANDARDS FOR THE POSTS
Candidates called for DV will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of Railway staff. The medical requirements against different medical standards for different categories are outlined below:

Note:
- The above medical standards are indicative and not exhaustive and apply to candidates in general. The candidates are advised to read Chapter 5 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Vol.-I which can be accessed at www.indianrailways.gov.in. Candidates must ensure that they are medically fit and eligible as per prescribed medical standards for the posts opted for by them.
- Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgery procedure to correct refractory error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standards A-2 & A-3 in this CEN. Candidates have to submit declaration in Annexure-VII during DV.

- Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible as per the medical standards for the post(s) opted by them. In case of failure of the candidate to pass the prescribed medical fitness for the opted posts, he/she will not be considered for empanelment for that post and alternate appointment shall not be provided.
- If a candidate fails to acquire the required medical standards for the post(s) during his initial medical examination, he/she may be offered one last and final opportunity to prefer Medical Appeal on payment of prescribed charges, with laid down conditions. For candidates who avail the medical appeal option within the allowed time, the result of medical test in the appeal is final and binding. For candidates who do not avail the medical appeal option within the allowed time, their initial medical examination result will only be considered.
Important: Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible as per the medical standards for the posts opted by them. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) shall not be given any alternative appointment. Those who are opting for A2 medical standard posts may note that these posts have stringent medical standards and hence they are specifically advised to ensure that their fitness, both in terms of vision as well as physical standards, is as per the prescribed requirements in the medical manual indicated above.

- Must produce OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025 but not later than 02.03.2026
- Certificate must be as per central list (http://www.ncbc.nic.in)
- Must submit self-declaration (Annexure IIA) at DV that they don't belong to Creamy Layer
- Certificate must mention: "Does NOT belong to Creamy Layer as per DOPT OM 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08.09.93, modified vide OM 36033/1/2013-Estt.(Res.) dated 13.09.2017"
- OBC in state list but not in central list: NOT eligible for reservation
For EWS Candidates:
- NOT covered under SC/ST/OBC-NCL
- Gross annual family income < Rs. 8 lakh for F.Y. 2024-25
- Family should NOT own:
- 5 acres or more of agricultural land, OR
- Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. or more, OR
- Residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more (notified municipalities), OR
- Residential plot of 200 sq. yards or more (other areas)
- Family: Applicant, parents, siblings <18 years, spouse, children <18 years
- Must possess valid Income & Asset Certificate (Annexure III) based on F.Y. 2024-25 income/assets

- If NCVT weightage gives lower score, higher of the two will be considered

Application Rules:

Identity Authentication:
- Strongly advised to authenticate using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during account creation
- Aadhaar-seeded bank account mandatory for fee refund

Account Creation:
- If already created account for CEN 2024/2025, use same credentials

How to Apply for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025
Candidates are required to apply ONLINE to the selected RRB/Railway Zone through the official website only, by first creating an account (if not already created for CENs 2024/2025), then filling the application form with correct personal, educational and eligibility details, uploading live photograph and signature as per specifications, paying the prescribed examination fee online, and finally submitting the application before the closing date. Application details (except “Create an Account” and chosen RRB/Railway Zone) can be modified during the notified modification window on payment of the prescribed modification fee.
Create an Account
- Candidates must first create an account for this CEN using the link on official RRB websites (Para 24.0(A)). Those who already have an account for previous CENs should use the same credentials.
- A valid personal mobile number and active email ID are mandatory for receiving OTPs during account creation.
- No changes will be allowed later in the “Create an Account” form details, including mobile number and email ID; candidates must enter all information carefully and accurately.
Identity Authentication Advisory
- Candidates are strongly advised to authenticate their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during “Create an Account”.
- Identity authentication through DigiLocker/Aadhaar facilitates smoother and faster verification.
- Applicants verifying identity through alternate Photo IDs will be subject to significantly stricter and more detailed scrutiny at every stage of recruitment.
General Guidelines for Submission of Online Applications
- Candidates must use only the official RRB website link for applying. They should read all information and instructions in the detailed CEN carefully before filling the ONLINE application.
- Application form must be filled with correct information and re‑checked before submission.
- No correction is allowed after submission, except during the application modification window on payment of extra fee.
- Medium of Examination: CBT questions will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). Candidates must choose one medium; questions will be displayed in the chosen language and in English.
- Order of Zone Preferences: Candidates must provide order of Zone/Railway unit preferences for the notified posts, as applicable.
- Multiple applications to different RRBs or to the same RRB will lead to rejection of all applications and debarment.
- After submission, candidates will be directed to opt for mode of payment as per Para 7.1 and complete fee payment. They must be cautious about the genuineness of payment mode and last date for payment, and avoid unauthorised websites.
- Acceptance of ONLINE application will happen only after confirmation of fee payment. A confirmation will be sent via email and SMS.
Live Photo Capturing of the Candidate during Application
Instructions:
- Candidates are not required to upload a pre‑existing photograph; the application module will capture a live photograph at the time of filling the form.
- Live photo may be captured by webcam or front camera (screen‑side) of a mobile phone.
- Candidates should wear non‑white, preferably dark coloured clothing to maintain contrast with the background.
While capturing:
- Position the camera at eye level and look straight with a neutral expression.
- Ensure the entire face is clearly visible and centered within the frame; no part of head/face should be outside the frame.
- Do not wear cap, mask or glasses/spectacles.
- Candidates may preview and retake the photograph until submission.
- Applications with non‑compliant photographs are liable to be rejected; appearance during recruitment must match the submitted photograph.
Important: Candidates must not attempt to take a picture of a printed or digital pre‑existing photograph; such applications will be rejected. Suitable relaxations are provided in the portal for PwBD candidates via relevant options.
Mandatory Scanned Documents
The following documents must be kept ready for uploading:
- Candidate’s signature in JPG/JPEG format as per Para 16.5.1.
- SC/ST Certificate (for candidates requesting free train travel pass) in PDF format, as per specification in the CEN.
Candidate Signature
- Signature must be written by the candidate only, using black ink on white paper.
- Signature must be in running handwriting (cursive/joined letters), not in BLOCK, CAPITAL or disjointed letters.
- Scan at minimum 100 DPI, in JPG/JPEG format.
- File size: 30 KB to 49 KB; dimensions: minimum 140 (width) × 60 (height) pixels.
Assistance of Scribe
Assistance of scribe, eligibility conditions, registration process, and compensatory time will be governed by the detailed provisions given under Para 11.7 and 11.7.8 of this CEN. Eligible PwBD candidates must follow those instructions and register their scribe details in the application portal during the specified window.
Modification of Submitted Application
- After final submission, candidates can modify application details (except “Create an Account” information and chosen RRB/Railway Zone) by paying a non‑refundable modification fee of Rs. 250/- per modification.
- If changing community/category such that the applicable examination fee increases (e.g. SC/ST to UR/OBC/EWS, or ExSM/PwBD/Female/Transgender to corresponding non‑concession category), candidates must also pay the difference in fee of Rs. 250/- in addition to the modification fee.
- Modifications are permitted any number of times only within the modification window (05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026, 23:59 hrs). After this period, no changes will be entertained.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS – REGISTRATION & SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
- Please read the information given in the CEN thoroughly before filling up the ONLINE application.
- Candidates must ensure that they possess and fulfil all the prescribed educational qualifications for the post on or before the closing date for submitting application against this CEN. Candidates waiting for final results of prescribed educational qualifications are NOT eligible to apply.
- Applications must be submitted ONLINE only through the link provided on official RRB websites ONLY listed at Para 24.0 (A) of this CEN. Candidates are required to go through Annexure A (Post-wise Parameters) and Annexure B (Railway-wise & post-wise vacancy details) to ascertain their eligibility before applying through online mode. Railway Zone wise vacancies indicated in this CEN are provisional and may increase or decrease as per requirement of the concerned Railway Administrations.
- Candidates are advised to visit only official websites of the RRBs/RRCs indicated at Para 24.0 (A & B) of this CEN and be very cautious about fake websites and job racketeers. Date for CBT and result of CBT will be uploaded on the official websites of the RRBs mentioned at para 24.0 (A). Dates for PET, Document Verification, Medical Examination and Empanelment shall be intimated from time to time through the websites of RRCs as listed at para 24.0 (B).
- Selection of RRB and Preferences for posts: Candidates can choose only one RRB/Railway Zone and indicate their preference for posts/categories notified, for which they are interested to apply and eligible, in that chosen RRB/Railway Zone only. Candidates with partial options will be considered only for the specific posts/categories opted by them, subject to vacancy position at the time of allotment. If no option is given for certain posts/categories, it will be considered as their unwillingness for the same. Options once exercised shall be final and no change shall be entertained.
- Candidates are required to go through the Post Parameter table and Vacancy table of this detailed CEN No. 09/2025 to ascertain their eligibility before applying through online mode. Only thereafter they should exercise options for the RRB/Railway Zone and post(s) within the Railway chosen as per their eligibility. The selection of RRB/Railway Zone once exercised shall be final.
- Only one application is required to be submitted to the selected RRB/Railway Zone for all its notified posts in this CEN. Candidates can apply to only one RRB/Railway Zone. Multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB will lead to rejection of all the applications. Any attempt to submit more than one application by a candidate against this CEN shall result in disqualification and debarment from the recruitment process and future examinations of RRB and RRC.
- Eligibility of the candidates will be considered provisional, based on details furnished by the candidates in the ONLINE application. The RRB will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for eligibility; candidature will be accepted only provisionally subject to fulfilling basic eligibility criteria. Certificates/documents in support of Educational Qualifications and Age/Caste/Category, etc. shall be sought at the time of Document Verification by RRC. If any claim made in the application is not substantiated by certificates/documents, the candidature will be cancelled. If at any stage it is found that any information is false/incorrect, or relevant information is suppressed, or the candidate does not satisfy eligibility criteria, his/her candidature will be rejected forthwith.
- Crucial date for claim of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/EBC status or any other benefit viz. fee concession, reservation, age-relaxation, etc., where not specified otherwise, will be the closing date for submission of ONLINE applications against this CEN.
- All candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits applicable to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/ExSM/CCAA must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation/relaxation as per eligibility prescribed in the Rules/CEN, and be in possession of all requisite certificates in the prescribed format.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed medical standards for the post(s) they are opting for. Candidates who are found medically unsuitable for the opted post(s) shall not be given any alternative appointment.
- Age (as on 01.01.2026): The lower and upper age limits prescribed for each post are indicated at Para 5.1 & 5.2 with relevant upper age relaxation.
- Candidates must have their own active mobile number and valid and active personal Email ID for all communication during the entire duration of recruitment, as all communication will only be through SMS and/or email.
- RRBs/RRCs will not entertain any request for change of mobile number and e-mail address at any stage. Only one ONLINE Registration is permitted through one mobile number and one email ID under this CEN.
- Centre/City allocation for CBT/PET will depend upon technical and logistical feasibility. Candidates may have to travel to other Cities/States for attending CBT/PET. Request for change of Exam Centre/date/shift shall NOT be allowed under any circumstance.
- Candidates can modify the application particulars except details filled in “Create an Account” form (including mobile number and Email ID) and chosen Railway even after submission of application, but only within the last date of modification window for correction in applications, by paying modification fee. After the last date of modification window (14.03.2026), no representation for modification will be entertained.
- Candidates are advised, in their own interest, to authenticate their identity using Digilocker or Aadhaar during the “Create an Account” stage. If missed at that stage, they can still authenticate during online application details filling by using the “Verify Aadhaar” facility. This must be completed before final submission of application. Applicants verifying identity with alternate Photo IDs will be subjected to significantly stricter and more detailed scrutiny at every stage.
- During the ONLINE APPLICATION, candidates will be asked to Create an Account. If a candidate has already created an Account for CENs notified in 2024/2025, they should use the same credentials to apply for this CEN. If not, they must first “Create an Account” before filling the application. Details filled in the “Create an Account” form (including mobile number, Email ID and chosen RRB/Railway Zone) cannot be modified at any stage once the account is created.
- After submission of the ONLINE application (complete in all respects), if a candidate wishes to further modify, change or correct any detail except details filled in “Create an Account” form and chosen Railway, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion from 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026 (23:59 hours.
- After 14.03.2026, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information furnished in the application.
- Candidates are advised, in their own interest, to submit their ONLINE application well before the closing date and to avoid last-minute rush due to possible heavy internet or website traffic in the final days.
