The qualification must be from a University or Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), or National Board of Examination (NBE). Doctors must be registered with MCI, NMC, or SMC, or possess a valid practitioner license and be enrolled in the State Register or National Register.
The upper age limit for both Specialist (General Medicine) and GDMO posts is 69 years as on 14/10/2026. The tenure of engagement is subject to an upper age limit of 70 years.
SAIL Recruitment 2026 Job Description
- Provide medical services and healthcare at hospitals located at Bolani Ore Mines (BOM), Barsuan Iron Mines (BIM), and Kalta Iron Mines (KIM) under Odisha Group of Mines (OGoM), CMLO.
- Ensure availability for a minimum of 8 hours a day for six days in a week and 48 hours a week (rates pro-rated if engagement is for fewer hours).
- Render services in emergent conditions or as per requirement even beyond normal assigned working hours without extra remuneration or benefit.
What to Bring
- Filled-in application format (Annexure-A) with one recent passport size colour photograph signed across.
- Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC / Matriculation Certificate).
- Certificates and mark sheets of required qualification and Internship Completion Certificate.
- Caste/Category certificate, wherever applicable.
- Valid Registration Certificate issued by Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.
- Experience Certificate(s) showing relevant post qualification experience, if any (Service Certificate issued by the parent organization for retired employees).
- Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID / Aadhaar Card / Passport / Driving License).
- NOC from present employer, if employed under PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Govt. Department.
- A Self-Certificate stating that he/she has not separated due to Voluntary Retirement (applicable for Ex-employees of SAIL and other PSUs/Government).
- Original certificates and documents with a set of self-attested photocopies.
What Happens on the Day
Eligible candidates must attend the walk-in interview at the designated venue between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM on 10 November 2026 along with all original documents and self-attested photocopies. Candidates who fail to produce original documents in support of eligibility will not be allowed to appear for the interview. No TA/DA is admissible for appearing in the walk-in interview. Final joining of the selected candidate is subject to medical fitness.
Important Instructions
- The engagement of Consultants (Doctors in Medical Disciplines) is purely of temporary nature and shall not create any right for regular appointment.
- No PF, Gratuity, or other benefits are payable unless specified. No HRA will be admissible.
- Consultants are not eligible for Non-Practicing Allowance, but private practice is allowed provided it does not disrupt assigned working hours.
- Ex-employees of SAIL and other PSUs/Govt. are eligible to apply, except those separated by opting for Voluntary Retirement.
- The initial tenure is for 01 year, extendable for another 01 year at the discretion of the Company, up to a maximum of 03 years under the same contract, subject to an upper age limit of 70 years.
- Either party can terminate the engagement by giving one month's notice, or the company can terminate it forthwith for medical unfitness, poor performance, moral turpitude, conviction, insolvency, loss of license, grave misconduct, or financial irregularity.
- Post-paid SIM under CUG with a monthly ceiling of Rs. 500/- for Specialist and Rs. 350/- for GDMO will be provided.
