SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026
SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026 consists of an Online Written Test followed by a Test of Local Language and Medical Examination. Candidates who qualify all stages are engaged as apprentices for one year. State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official notification for the engagement of 7150 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 for 2026-27. The SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026 is designed to select candidates through a merit-based system focusing on written examination and local language proficiency.

Stages of SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026
The selection process has three main stages:
- Online Written Examination (Objective Type)
- Test of Specified Local Language
- Medical Examination
Final selection is based on performance in the written test, qualifying the local language test, and being declared medically fit. There is no interview.
1) SBI Apprentice Exam Pattern 2026
The online written test is the most important stage of the SBI Apprentice Selection Process 2026. It consists of 100 objective questions for 100 marks with a total duration of 60 minutes.

Important Points:
- Separate timing for each section.
- Negative Marking: 1/4th mark deducted for every wrong answer.
- No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects. Minimum aggregate marks decided by SBI (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
- Merit list prepared State-wise and Category-wise.
Languages Available for SBI Apprentice Exam
SBI conducts the exam (except General English) in 13 regional languages along with English and Hindi. Candidates must choose the medium as per the state applied for.

Note: Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the applied state.
2) Test of Specified Local Language
After qualifying the online written test, candidates have to appear for the Local Language Proficiency Test.
- This test checks reading, writing, speaking & understanding of the opted local language of the applied state.
- Candidates who have studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempted from this test.
- Those who fail this test will not be engaged as apprentices.
3) Medical Examination & Final Selection
Selected candidates after language test undergo medical examination as per SBI standards. Final engagement is subject to:
- Verification of documents and eligibility
- Qualifying local language test
- Being declared medically fit
