The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), a Government Company, has released a circular (Ref. No. CRP/HRD/V/G&D/2026/1185, dated 05 August 2026) from its HRD Department inviting applications for Graduate (Engineering & Non-Engineering) and Diploma Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the year 2026-2027. Engineering Graduates, Non-Engineering Graduates, and Diploma holders who passed their qualifying examination in the last five years (pass-out years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026) are eligible to apply.

SCCL is inviting applications for a total of 300 apprenticeship slots - 150 for Engineering Graduates across seven branches, 100 for Non-Engineering Graduates across six branches, and 50 for Diploma Holders across four branches. This is a one-year (12-month) paid training engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961, not a regular employment offer. SCCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria

  • Engineering Graduates, Non-Engineering Graduates, and Diploma holders who have passed their qualifying examination during the last five years – i.e., pass-out years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 only – are eligible to apply. Candidates who passed out in any other year will not be considered and will be rejected during scrutiny.
  • Candidates must select the branch matching their qualification, as listed in the Apprenticeship Slots section above (Mining, EEE, ECE, CSE, IT, Mechanical, Civil for Engineering Graduates; BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Pharmacy for Non-Engineering Graduates; Mining, EEE, Mechanical, Civil for Diploma Holders).
  • Candidates must not have already undergone, or be currently registered for, training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, in SCCL or any other organisation; an undertaking to this effect must be submitted with the application.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of AI, Systems, MS Office, and MS Excel.
  • Priority will be given to "SCCL/Retired Employee Children" and "PAF/PDF" (Project Affected Family/Project Displaced Family) candidates, as per SCCL's prevailing practice. Local, Caste, and EWS reservations will be followed as per SCCL's extant policy; vacant slots in reserved categories will be diverted to the open category.

SCCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 Stipend

The stipend is shared equally: 50% by SCCL and 50% by BOAT (Southern Region)/NATS 2.0, Ministry of Education, Government of India, credited directly into the apprentice's Aadhaar-enabled bank account under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Selected candidates must complete e-KYC and ensure their Union Bank of India (UBI) account is Aadhaar-seeded, as SCCL will not be responsible for non-payment of stipend if Aadhaar is not linked to the bank account. Apprentices are not eligible for any other financial or service benefit apart from this monthly stipend during the training period, as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961.

SCCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 Selection Process

There is no written examination for this apprenticeship. Selection in SCCL will be based on inter-se seniority with reference to the year of passing, and merit within that year. Priority will be given to "SCCL/Retired Employee Children" and "PAF/PDF" candidates as per prevailing practice, and Local, Caste, and EWS reservations will be followed as per SCCL's extant policy, with vacant reserved slots diverted to the open category. The selection process for the first batch will begin only from the first week of September 2026, after scrutiny of applications at the MVTCs.

Posting Preference

The MVTC where a candidate submits the application will not be treated as the fixed posting area. Candidates must select their area posting preferences as Option-01, Option-02, Option-03, etc., in the application; final posting will be based on vacancies and the preferences chosen. For candidates applying at MVTC Naini, posting will be given at Naini Area, irrespective of the options chosen.

Documents Required for SCCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27

Hard Copies to be Submitted at the Area MVTC/GVTC

After registering on the NATS 2.0 portal and the SCCL portal, candidates must submit the following self-attested hard copies at their respective Area MVTC:

  • Passport-size photograph (with signature on the photo) – 1
  • Printout of the duly signed SCCL web portal application – 1 copy
  • Printout of the nats.education.gov.in student registration form – 1 copy
  • Local Certificate (Others category only – Enclosure B or C format) – 1 copy
  • Aadhaar card Xerox copy – 1 copy
  • EPR View & Employee ID Card/PAF Certificate, for Employee Child/PAF candidates – 1 copy

Important: If the hard copy of the application is not submitted at the MVTC for scrutiny/verification, it will not appear in the received list, and the candidate will not be considered.

Soft Copies to be Uploaded on the SCCL Portal

Four original certificates (not Xerox copies) must be uploaded in PDF format only (size 50 KB to 250 KB), along with a scanned photo (10 KB to 50 KB, size 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with a signature at the bottom):

  • A. SSC certificate (PDF) – required for all candidates
  • B. Graduate/Diploma Certificate (PDF) – Provisional Certificate and Consolidated Marks Memo, required for all candidates
  • C. Reservation certificate (PDF) – for ST/SC-Group 1, 2, 3/BC-A, B, C, D, E candidates and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates only
  • D. SCCL Employee Children/Ex-Employee Children – EPR view and ID Card (PDF)
  • E. PDF/PAF candidates – Certificate issued by RDO/Tahsildar and attested by the HOD of Area Estates Dept and SO to GM, or a certificate issued by the Area GM with PDF/PAF details (PDF)

How to Apply for SCCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27

Steps to Apply

  1. Register on the NATS 2.0 web portal at www.nats.education.gov.in, filling in all required fields and uploading the required certificate copies, to obtain a Registration Number.
  2. Apply through the official SCCL web portal at www.scclmines.com/apprenticeship, using the same e-mail ID and mobile number that were entered on the NATS portal. Read the terms and conditions on the SCCL portal carefully before applying. The portal remains open from 06 August 2026, 12:00 PM to 16 August 2026, 5:00 PM.
  3. Enter all required information, and upload your recent photograph (JPEG format) along with all required original certificates (as listed in the Documents Required section above).
  4. Take a printout of the duly signed portal-generated application form, along with the NATS 2.0 registration form, certificate copies, and the first page of your UBI bank account passbook.
  5. Submit these hard copies at your nearest Area Group/Mines Vocational Training Centre (GVTC/MVTC – full address list given below), within the same window: 06 August 2026, 12:00 PM to 16 August 2026, 5:00 PM.

Candidates applying for apprenticeship in SCCL must have an account in Union Bank of India (UBI), in one of the SCCL salary disbursing branches (list given below), with Aadhaar linking, e-KYC, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) enabled, since 50% of the stipend is transferred through the DBT process. Candidates will be given time to submit the first page of their passbook before joining the apprenticeship.

Important Instructions

  • Suppression of facts by the applicant will lead to disqualification at any stage of the selection process, or termination even after joining.
  • Candidate selection is also subject to requirements stipulated by the Regional Director, Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), Chennai, and the NATS portal.
  • The same e-mail ID and mobile number entered on the NATS portal must be used on the SCCL portal, and must remain unchanged until the selection process is completed. If a candidate changes or forgets their e-mail ID/password, they cannot create a contract on the NATS portal and will not be allowed to proceed with the apprenticeship.
  • Candidate name, father's/mother's name, date of birth, and year of passing entered in the portals must match the SSC/Birth Certificate, Aadhaar card, and Graduate/Diploma Certificate exactly; a mismatch may lead to rejection during scrutiny at the Area MVTC or HRD Office.
  • The bank account uploaded in NATS must be Aadhaar-seeded to enable DBT transfer of the stipend; if Aadhaar is not enabled/linked, SCCL is not responsible for non-payment. The bank account registered in NATS should not receive any scholarship or other related credits, to avoid DBT conflicts.
  • For married women candidates, the surname in Aadhaar and NATS registration must match the surname in the SSC certificate; a mismatch will mean the application is not accepted.
  • Any false claim regarding "on-roll employee children" or "PDF/PAF" status, missing required certificates, or any mismatch between application details and certificates, will lead to rejection at MVTC scrutiny or at HRD Corporate. Candidates will not be intimated regarding the reasons for rejection.
  • Even after selection, if a candidate fails to accept the offer on the NATS 2.0 portal, or if the web portal denies the contract due to a mismatch of details or a pre-existing contract, the candidate will not be allowed to proceed with the apprenticeship.
  • If any details furnished are found to be incorrect, the candidate will be terminated at any time during the apprenticeship, and the cost of training will be recovered from the candidate or their surety.
  • Training will be terminated without intimation following unauthorised absence for more than 20 consecutive days, or cumulative absenteeism of 40 days. The apprentice must complete up to 240 musters of attendance to receive the Apprenticeship Certificate.
  • Selected candidates will also be governed by the terms and conditions of Annexure-I, provided along with the offer letter.
  • In case of absconding or termination of the apprenticeship contract for any reason, as per Section 7 of the Apprentices Act, 1961, the selected candidate must refund the cost of training to the employer, as determined by the Apprenticeship Adviser/Regional Directorate, BOAT, Chennai.
  • The offer of Apprenticeship does not confer any right of employment in SCCL. There is no quota or preference for SCCL apprentices in selection for regular jobs.
  • All selected external candidates must open a bank account with Union Bank of India (in any SCCL salary disbursing branch) and opt into the "Union Bank of India Rs. 30 Lakhs Group Accidental Insurance Policy" by paying the necessary premium (around Rs. 750/-) for the one-year training period.
  • No TA/DA is admissible for joining the Apprenticeship, if selected.
  • Selected candidates must produce all original certificates and their Aadhaar card while reporting for the Apprenticeship; any mismatch with the uploaded soft copies or portal data will lead to rejection.
  • SCCL Management reserves the sole discretion to increase or decrease slots in any branch/category, or to extend the last date on the portal or the last date of submission at the MVTC.
