SGTPS Birsinghpur ITI Apprentice Vacancy 2026 (Trade-wise)
Note: These vacancies are open only to candidates who are domicile/original residents (mool nivasi) of Madhya Pradesh; preference will be given to residents of Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Katni and Jabalpur districts. The number of OBC-reserved posts may change as per orders of the Hon'ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh. Vacancies arising from time to time during the year may also be filled through applications received against this advertisement.
SGTPS Birsinghpur ITI Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
- Candidate must have passed ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade from a Government/private recognised Industrial Training Institute.
- Candidate must not have been previously registered for apprenticeship in any establishment, nor worked in any institution for 1 year or more.
- Candidate must be a domicile/original resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- Candidate may apply for only one trade; applying for more than one trade may lead to rejection of the application.
Note: Registration on the Government of India Apprenticeship Portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) is mandatory before applying.

SGTPS Birsinghpur ITI Apprentice Stipend 2026
Stipend is paid as per the rates prescribed by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. No other allowance or benefit is admissible. During the apprenticeship, trainees are entitled to 13 days casual leave, 10 days medical leave, and weekly off.
SGTPS Birsinghpur ITI Apprentice Selection Process 2026
There is no written exam or interview. Selection is purely merit-based.
- Applications received are first screened to confirm eligibility.
- Eligible candidates are then selected on a merit list based on the percentage of total marks (CGPA, averaged across semesters) obtained in their ITI trade.
- In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate is given priority.
- A waiting list may be used if required.
- Final selection is subject to a medical fitness certificate issued by the District Medical Officer.
- Candidates who do not join within the stipulated time will have their selection cancelled.
How to Apply for SGTPS Birsinghpur ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Both online and offline application are mandatory. A candidate is considered eligible only if they have applied through both modes.
Step 1: Register on the Apprenticeship Portal
- Visit https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and click "Register/Candidate", then select "Register As Candidate".
- Fill Personal Details (Aadhaar number, category - General/OBC/SC/ST, name, parent's name, date of birth, gender).
- Fill Contact Details (address, mobile number, email ID, password).
- Fill the Qualification section with technical and academic details, and upload the relevant certificates.
- In the Preference section, select your preferred sector/trade.
- Upload photograph, date-of-birth proof, and scanned signature, then click Continue.
- Review the preview of your details, edit if needed, and click Confirm to complete registration.
Step 2: Apply to SGTPS Birsinghpur
- Log in to the portal using your registered email/mobile number and password.
- Go to "Establishment Search" and select "SANJAY GANDHI THERMAL POWER STATION BIRSINGHPUR".
- Apply for the trade(s) shown in the establishment's vacancies, as per your eligibility, on or before 21 September 2026, 11:59 PM.
Step 3: Submit the Offline Application
Send the completed offline application in the prescribed format to: Office of the Superintending Engineer (Training), Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station, MPPGCL, Birsinghpur, District Umaria, Pin Code 484551 (MP), by ordinary post or other means, so that it is received by 5:30 PM on 21 September 2026. Applications received after this time will not be accepted.
Important Conditions
- Selected apprentices must arrange their own accommodation. Company housing, if available, may be provided only during the training period on a shared basis, at a prescribed fee, and trainees allotted such housing cannot live with family.
- Selected trainees must arrange their own safety equipment (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles, etc.).
- Selected apprentices must have accident insurance of at least ₹1,00,000/-, and a copy of the policy must be provided to the office. Workmen's Compensation Rules, 1923 apply in case of an accident.
- Selected candidates must submit portal registration proof, insurance policy, medical certificate, a photocopy of Aadhaar card, and a bond on ₹500 stamp paper to the office.
- PwD/reserved-category candidates should fill their category carefully, as it cannot be changed later under any circumstances.
- Reservation for Divyang (PwD) candidates, at 40% or more disability, is applicable horizontally in all categories only within the Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA) trade, as per government guidelines; other trades follow state reservation rules except hazardous trades.
- If, at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not fulfil the prescribed eligibility or has concealed information, the candidature will be cancelled and the training may be terminated.
- MPPGCL, Birsinghpur reserves the right to cancel, limit, or extend the selection process at any time without prior notice or reason.
- No correspondence or inquiry will be entertained regarding non-selection.
- After completing the apprenticeship, trainees must pass the examination conducted by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, after which a National Apprenticeship Certificate will be issued.
