Selection Process
There will be no interviews.
The eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list formed on the basis of marks secured in Matriculation examination (10th), 12th and ITI Course / Diploma and Bachelor of Engineering or MBA as per following details:

In case of a tie in total marks between two candidates, the one older in age will be considered senior for further selection process.
The candidates shortlisted on the basis of the information provided in the Application Form shall have to produce all original testimonials/certificates at the time of verification. In case any information/claim made by the applicant in his/her application is found to be false, the candidature of such applicant shall be cancelled and he/she shall be liable for prosecution.
Also, the candidate will have to produce a certificate of medical fitness before joining.
The selection and deployment of Apprentice Trainees will be subject to detailed provisions of Apprenticeship Act. The contracts with candidates thus selected will be registered under Board of Apprentice Training (BOAT)/ National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) Portal.
How to Apply
Eligible and interested candidates would be required to apply online only through the Career section on SJVN’s website: www.sjvn.nic.in. No other means/mode of application shall be accepted.
Before registering their applications on the website, the candidates should possess the following:
a) Valid e-mail ID and mobile number, which should remain valid for at least one year.
b) Personal details and educational qualification details and a Debit card/ Credit card/ Internet banking detail via which the payment of application fee of Rs. 100/- (SC/ST/PwD exempted) is to be made on e-recruitment portal. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.
c) Candidates should have scanned copy of latest passport size photograph, as well as photograph of signatures in digital format (.jpg or .jpeg file only, less than 500 KB size) for uploading with the application form.
d) Candidates should clearly note that SJVN, in any case, will not be responsible for rejection of application on account of application being incomplete, non-submission of application or payment or any delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever.
General Instructions
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum will be 30 Years as on closing date. Concession & Relaxation: a) Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. b) Candidates belonging to PwD categories shall be given age relaxation up to 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST and up to 13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
- Stipend: i. Graduate Apprentices: ₹10,000/- Per Month ii. Diploma Apprentices: ₹8,000/- Per Month iii. ITI Apprentices: ₹7,000/- Per Month.
- Training duration: One Year.
- Reservation: Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) and PWDs will be as per the provisions of the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and its amendments thereafter.
- Preference to PAF/PAA: 25% seats are earmarked for candidates from Project Affected Families (PAF) and Project Affected Areas (PAA) of STPL with first preference to members of Project Affected Families. However, the candidates will have to produce a certificate in this regard issued from the Competent Authority/Revenue Department/ Panchayat and duly verified by concerned SJVN offices.
- Only Candidates who are domicile of Bihar State are eligible to apply.
- Candidates should apply for only one trade / discipline for which he/ she is most desirous, based on his/her qualification. In case of multiple applications from a candidate, the latest one shall be considered as final and older application shall be rejected.
- Candidates should be eligible with respect to age criteria and educational qualification as on closing date of advertisement. Result awaited candidates need not apply. Candidates who have undergone apprenticeship training in SJVN/ STPL need not apply.
- Employment in SJVN/ STPL: No extension of training and employment will be given after the completion of one-year training by SJVN/ STPL.
- Candidates will have to make their own stay and transportation arrangements.
- The candidates who after the completion of their education have undergone training or job experience of one year or more shall not be considered eligible for apprenticeship training. Even if the gap between the declaration of result and the commencement of training is more than five years, the candidate will be declared not eligible.
- All correspondence with the registered candidates regarding issuance of call letter/offer of apprenticeship training etc. shall be done through their registered email and/or mobile phones only. The candidates are required to keep their registered email and mobile phone active for at least one year from the date of registration.
- All information regarding lists of candidates shortlisted for further selection process & list of candidates finally selected shall be made available on website of SJVN www.sjvn.nic.in. Candidates can download relevant lists etc. from the site. Call letters shall be emailed to candidates at their registered email IDs. No separate call letters shall be sent to the candidates by post. SJVN will not be responsible for any loss of e-mail/ SMS sent due to invalid or wrong email ID/mobile phone no. or delivery of emails to spam/bulk mail folder.
- The sole responsibility of downloading or uploading of documents on SJVN website / SJVN portal and downloading / printing of call letters shall be that of the candidate.
- Any corrigendum/addendum etc. or updates with regard to this advertisement shall be made available on our website www.sjvn.nic.in. Candidates are thus advised to periodically visit our website as all further correspondence and latest information shall be available only on our website.
- The decision of Management will be final & binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, mode of selection, cancellation of the selection process either in part or full, higher qualification etc. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Filling up of the seats is solely at the discretion of management based on suitability of candidates and no claim will arise for engagement, if some of these seats are not filled due to unsuitability / insufficient number of candidates.
