SMP, Kolkata Dy. Director (EDP) Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP, Kolkata) has notified 3 vacancies for the Dy. Director (EDP) post on a deputation basis. The engagement is initially for three (03) years and is further extendable by 02 more years. The notified pay for the post is Rs. 50,000 - 1,60,000/-, with the option to draw pay in the scale of the post in KDS SMPK or basic pay in the parent organization plus deputation allowance. Candidates must meet the essential educational qualifications and experience criteria prescribed for direct recruitment:

• Essential Qualification Option 1: Degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Sciences from a recognized University / Institution.
• Essential Qualification Option 2: Degree in Maths / Statistics / Operational Research / Economics with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application / Computer Science / Information Technology from a recognised University / Institution.
• Essential Qualification Option 3: Degree in Engineering with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application / Computer Sciences / Information Technology from a recognized University / Institution.
• Essential Experience: Five years of experience in Programming / Electronic Data Processing / Systems Design & Analysis and related fields.
• Desirable: Post Graduate Degree in Maths / Statistic / Operational Research / Economics OR Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Systems or information Systems or Management Information System or Information Technology or Computer Applications or Business Admin (Post Graduate Degree / Diploma) with specialisation in Systems or Information Systems or Management Information System or Information Technology and allied subjects from a recognised University/Institution.

Pay and Terms

While on deputation, the officer may elect within one month from the joining date to draw either the pay in the scale of the post in KDS, SMPK (Rs. 50,000 - 1,60,000/-) or his basic pay in the parent organization plus deputation allowance. Deputation allowance is payable at 5% of basic pay (maximum Rs. 4,500/-) for same station deputation or 10% (maximum Rs. 9,000/-) for change of station deputation, subject to DA rules. Officers opting for the KDS, SMPK pay scale receive perks and allowances under a cafeteria approach up to 35% of Basic Pay, plus HRA at Kolkata Dock System rates. The deputation period is initially 03 years, extendable by a maximum of 02 years.

1. Download the application form and Pro-forma (Annexure-III) from the official website.
2. Fill in all mandatory details clearly in block letters and attach a self-attested passport-size photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm).
3. Compile certified copies of ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years (duly attested by an officer not below Dy. HOD on each page).
4. Attach attested copies of educational certificates, past and present work experience proofs, and relevant category certificates.
5. Obtain the Administrative/No Objection Certificate (Annexure-IV) and Vigilance clearance/comments (Annexure-V) from the competent authority of your parent organisation.
6. Superscribe the envelope as "Application for the post of Dy. Director (EDP) on deputation/absorption basis".

Selection Process

Selection for the 3 posts of Dy. Director (EDP) is conducted via deputation or absorption from eligible officers holding analogous posts or feeder posts with 5 years of regular service in the grade from Major Port Authorities, PSUs, Semi-Government, or Autonomous Bodies.
