Social Welfare & Social Education Department Tripura (SWSE Tripura) has notified 1 vacancy for the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Tripura post under advertisement number F.85(204)-SW/DC/2026/6264. Posts, Eligibility and Pay

Educational Qualification: Essential: Graduate from a recognized University. Desirable: Recognized Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Law, Management, Human Rights, Rehabilitation or Education of Persons with Disabilities.

Experience: At least 20 years of experience in a Group 'A' level or equivalent post in the Central Government or State Government; or in Public Sector Undertakings, Semi-Government or Autonomous Bodies dealing with disability-related matters or social sector; or as a senior-level functionary in a registered State, National, or International level voluntary organization working in the field of disability or social development.

Special Knowledge: Must possess special knowledge or practical experience in respect of matters relating to rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.

Age Limit: Must not have attained the age of 56 years as on 1st January of the year in which the last date for receipt of applications occurs. The term is for 3 years or until attaining the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, for a maximum of two terms.

Selection Process

The appointment is made by the State Government on the recommendation of a Search-cum-Selection Committee. The committee recommends a panel of 3 suitable candidates to the State Government. Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions prescribed under Rule 21 of the Tripura Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018.
