TNDALU Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for Registrar, Controller of Examinations Posts

The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) has released the recruitment notification for 2 positions, Controller of Examinations and Registrar, on a contract basis for a term of 3 years. Qualifications vary by post, requiring regular study mode. Pay is fixed with reference to the primary cadre or UGC Professor scale, and selection is through an interview. Who Can Apply

Eligibility criteria for the advertised posts are as follows:

• Controller of Examinations: Academician in the field of law not lower in rank than that of Assistant Professor (Selection Grade) of a College. Qualifying degree must be obtained through regular mode only. Knowledge in Tamil language is essential.
• Registrar: Must possess a Master’s Degree in Law with not less than 55% of marks or equivalent grade, AND fulfil one of the following experience criteria:
  • 3 years of experience as Professor or 8 years as Associate Professor or 15 years as Assistant Professor at academic level 11 and above in TNDALU, a Government Law College in the State, a research establishment, or other higher education institution; OR
  • 3 years of experience as a Principal of a Government Law College in the State; OR
  • 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or equivalent in TNDALU or other State Universities; OR
  • 3 years of experience as a Government officer not lower in rank than Deputy Secretary to Government, Law Department.
• Age Limit: Should not have completed 57 years on the date of the notification (11.10.2026).

Pay and Terms

For the Controller of Examinations, pay shall be fixed with reference to his/her pay in the primary cadre. For the Registrar, salary shall be fixed in the scale applicable for the post of Professor, as per UGC norms. Both appointments are made on a contract term for a period of 3 years.

1. Download the prescribed application form from the official website www.tndalu.ac.in starting 11.10.2026.
2. Fill out the application form completely.
3. Prepare a Demand Draft drawn on or after 11.10.2026 in favour of “The Registrar, the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai – 600 028” amounting to Rs.2,000/- for categories other than SC/ST/PWD, and Rs.1,000/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
4. Enclose relevant certificates and documents along with scanned copies of the filled application and enclosures in a CD or Pen Drive.
5. Submit two hard copies of the application along with the soft copy and Demand Draft to the University on or before 10.11.2026 by 5.45 p.m. In-service candidates must send applications through proper channel or submit an advance copy with a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.

Selection Process

Selection for the posts of Controller of Examinations and Registrar is carried out through an interview process based on the applications received and verified by the University.
