TNPSC Group 2 Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination a screening test only; marks don't count toward final ranking.
- Main Examination separate papers for Group II and Group IIA. Candidates admitted are roughly 10 times the number of vacancies, category-wise.
- Onscreen Certificate Verification admitted at a 1:3 ratio (General) and 1:2 (Reserved categories), based on Mains rank.
- Physical Certificate Verification and Counselling final selection based on qualifying paper marks, subject to reservation rules.
Candidates selected for a Group II post under this notification are not considered for Group IIA, and cannot take part in Group IIA counselling.

How to Apply for TNPSC Group 2 2026
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) at tnpscexams.in if not already registered Aadhaar linking is mandatory.
- Log in with your OTR user ID and password, then click "Apply" against Notification No. 07/2026.
- Upload a photograph (taken on or after 11.08.2026) and signature in the prescribed format.
- Pay the Preliminary Examination fee online (unless exempted) and submit the form.
- Use the correction window (13.09.2026 to 15.09.2026) to fix any errors no changes are allowed after this.
The last date to apply online is September 9, 2026, 11:59 PM.
Important Instructions
- Candidates can apply for both Group II and Group IIA posts within the same application.
- A minimum of 30% of vacancies in every category, including the general turn, is reserved for women candidates.
- Differently abled candidates can claim exemption from the Tamil Eligibility Test paper by declaring it during the online application.
- In case of any discrepancy between the Tamil and English versions of the notification, the English version is treated as final.
