UPTET 2026 OTR Registration is now open. Candidates can complete the One Time Registration (OTR) and fill the online application form from 27 March 2026 to 26 April 2026 on the official website upessc.up.gov.in. OTR is mandatory before submitting the UPTET 2026 application form. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 exam will be held on 2, 3, and 4 July 2026 for Primary (Class 1-5) and Upper Primary (Class 6-8) levels.

What is UPTET 2026 OTR?
UPTET stands for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC). This year, the commission has introduced a mandatory One Time Registration (OTR) system. Candidates must first complete OTR to generate a unique OTR ID, which is required to fill the UPTET application form.
UPTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Primary Level (Paper 1 – Classes 1 to 5)
Senior Secondary (10+2) with minimum 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed (passed or appearing) OR Graduation with 50% marks + B.Ed (as per NCTE norms) or equivalent.
Upper Primary Level (Paper 2 – Classes 6 to 8)
Graduation with minimum 50% marks + B.Ed / 2-year BTC (passed or appearing) OR Senior Secondary with 50% marks + 4-year B.L.Ed / B.Sc.Ed or equivalent as per NCTE norms.
Note: Relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for reserved categories. Candidates can apply for both papers if they meet the eligibility.

How to Complete UPTET 2026 OTR Registration & Apply Online – Step-by-Step
- Visit the official website: upessc.up.gov.in
- Go to the OTR section or use the direct link: uptet.upessc.org/otr
- Fill basic details: Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Mobile Number, Email ID, etc.
- Verify mobile and email using OTP.
- Upload scanned documents (photo & signature) in the prescribed format.
- Submit the OTR form and note down the generated OTR ID.
- Login using OTR ID to fill the UPTET application form.
- Select Paper 1, Paper 2, or Both; fill educational details and exam centre preferences.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Review all details, submit the form, and download/print the confirmation page.
Important: Complete OTR first. You cannot proceed to the application form without a valid OTR ID. Keep your Aadhaar ready for verification.
UPTET 2026 Exam Pattern (Overview)
The exam is conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode with no negative marking.
- Paper 1 (Primary): 150 MCQs, 150 marks, 2.5 hours (Child Development & Pedagogy, Language, Mathematics, Environmental Studies).
- Paper 2 (Upper Primary): 150 MCQs, 150 marks, 2.5 hours (Child Development & Pedagogy, Language, Subject-specific – Maths & Science or Social Studies).
