Qualification

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• The candidate must have passed: Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
• Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
• Graduation and Two Year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) (conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education adhering to the rules and principles set by NCTE)

Selection Process

Selection of Assistant Teachers shall be made on the basis of aggregated marks obtained in the following items of evaluation out of maximum marks of 50:

• Madhyamik/ equivalent examination: 05 Marks
• Higher Secondary/ equivalent examination: 10 Marks
• Training as specified by NCTE: 15 Marks
• Teacher Eligibility Test (TET): 05 Marks
• Extra-Curricular Activities: 05 Marks
• Viva-Voce/ Interview: 05 Marks
• Aptitude Test/ Teaching experience in case of Para-Teacher: 05 Marks
