How to Prepare for WBPSC Clerkship Exam 2024
- Start with the syllabus and Madhyamik standard. The questions are set at Madhyamik level, so revise Class 9-10 English, Arithmetic and basic history and geography before moving to advanced material.
- Give Arithmetic a fixed daily slot. The syllabus lists 13 specific topics. Practise each one until you can solve them quickly, as the paper has 30 questions on this section alone.
- Use General Studies for scoring. It carries the highest weight in Part-I (40 marks). Read current events with special focus on India, and cover Indian History and Geography at an elementary level.
- Practise Part-II writing by hand. Part-II is written, so practise report drafting, precis writing and translation within a 1-hour limit. Translation works in both directions: into English for Group-A and from English into your language for Group-B.
- Attempt mock tests and previous papers. Take timed Part-I mocks of 100 questions in 90 minutes to improve speed and accuracy, then review your weak topics.
- Practise basic computer skills and typing. This stage comes after Parts I and II, but regular typing practice keeps you ready.
