Kerala TET Exam Pattern Details: Kerala Government conducts Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) 2012 to select teachers for Category I (Lower Primary classes), Category II (Upper Primary classes) and Category III (High School classes). The Test will be conducted by Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala in accordance with the guidelines published by State Council of Educational Research and Training, Kerala (SCERT Kerala) and such other Rules/Regulations/Instructions/Policies laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/Department of General Education/Govt.of Kerala. Kerala TET Exam pattern details are given below…

1. Exam Pattern for Category I (Lower Primary classes): All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four distracters and each question carries one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. The total number of MCQs shall be 150. The duration of the examination shall be one and a half hours.

PAPER I (K-TET I): For Lower Primary classes
No. of MCQs: 150
Duration of the examination: 1½ hours
Structure and Content (All Compulsory)

1 Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 6 – 11) 30 30
Mathematics 30 30
Environmental Studies 30 30
2 Language I – Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada 30 30
3 Language II – English/Arabic 30 30
Total 150 150

2. Exam Pattern for Category II (Upper Primary classes): All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

Paper II (K-TET II):  For Upper Primary classes
No. of MCQs: 150
Duration of examination: 1½ hours
Structure and Content (All Compulsory)

1 Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 11 – 14) 30 30
(a)    For Mathematics and Science Teachers : Mathematics and Science

OR

(b) For Social Science Teachers : Social Science

3. Exam Pattern for Category III (High School classes): All questions will be of Multiple Choice type Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

PAPER III (K-TET I): For High School classes

Total marks – 150
Duration of Examination: 1½ hours
