Essential Qualifications
- A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule, or Part II of the third schedule, of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part II of the third schedule must also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act).
- Must be registered with the Central/State Medical Council.

AIIMS Bilaspur Senior Resident Age Limit
- Upper Age Limit: 45 years (age as on crucial date)
- Upper age limit shall be determined as on the last date of submission of applications.
- Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate only will be accepted for determining age; no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.
- No age relaxation is available to reserved category candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.

Tenure of the Post
The tenure of the post is three years, provided the candidate's overall past residency period at AIIMS Bilaspur or any other institute does not exceed three years. Candidates must declare their previous senior residency details in the application form under "Professional Experience" (Point No. 18).
AIIMS Bilaspur Senior Resident Application Fee
- PwBD/SC/ST candidates: Exempted from payment of fee
- All other categories: Rs. 1,000 + 18% GST = Rs. 1,180
- The application fee must be paid through NEFT to the bank account mentioned below. The fee is non-refundable. Candidates must upload proof of payment and also produce it at the time of the interview.
Reservation Certificate Requirements
- OBC Candidates: Must attach a certificate issued by the competent authority, valid for posts under the Central Government of India, clearly stating that the candidate does not belong to the Creamy Layer. Since the vacancies are advertised for financial year 2026-27, only OBC-NCL certificates issued on or after 01.04.2026 will be considered valid.
- EWS Candidates: Persons not covered under SC/ST/OBC reservation, whose family has a gross annual income below Rs. 8 lakh, are identified as EWS. Income includes salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc., for the financial year prior to the year of application. A valid income certificate in the prescribed format is required at the time of application and must be submitted at document verification. An EWS certificate issued on or after 01.04.2026, based on income for financial year 2026-2027, will be considered valid for the year 2026-2027.
- SC, ST, OBC & EWS: Certificates must be issued by a Tehsildar or above rank authority, as prescribed by the Government of India, in the prescribed Central Government format.
AIIMS Bilaspur Senior Resident Selection Process
- Selection is through a Walk-in Interview, held at the Administrative Block, 3rd Floor, AIIMS Bilaspur, Kothipura, Himachal Pradesh-174037.
- Candidates are not required to fill any online application form.
- Candidates must appear physically before the interview board; no request for an online interview will be entertained.
- Based on verification of original documents, the Screening Committee may shortlist candidates for the interview.
- The decision of the Competent Authority, AIIMS Bilaspur, in this regard shall be final and binding. The offer of appointment, when made, will be provisional and subject to verification of credentials by the competent authority.
- A wait list may be maintained. Any vacancy arising due to non-joining or resignation of selected candidates will be offered to candidates from the waiting list, according to merit.

Important Instructions and Terms & Conditions

- Only candidates who have been declared successful in their qualifying degree examination, and who will complete their tenure for the same on or before the crucial date, will be eligible.
