Age Limit

Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS Patna PDF 2026
Candidates must have completed the requisite qualification (MD/DNB/MS/MCh) by 31.07.2026. Those likely to complete after this date are not eligible. Government employees must produce a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) at counselling. No reservation is applicable in PDF courses as per Supreme Court judgment. Candidates must meet the educational qualification specific to each department as listed in the seats table above.

Other Important Information from Prospectus
Merit List & Tie Breaking: Merit is prepared on the basis of percentile. Ties are resolved first by age (older candidate preferred), then lower negative marks, then higher marks in MD/MS/MCh, and finally MBBS marks.
Course Fees & Emoluments: Course fee is same as DM/MCh super-specialty courses. Selected candidates receive Senior Resident emoluments at Pay Level-11 (entry pay Rs. 67,700/- per month) plus allowances.
Dissertation & Exit Exam: Candidates must submit a dissertation six months before the exit exam and publish at least one original research paper/case report in a PubMed-indexed journal.
Penalty for Leaving Course: Rs. 5,00,000 (Five Lakh) if a candidate leaves midway.
Hostel: Subject to availability.
