AVNL Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
- Junior Technician posts: CBT, followed by a qualifying Trade Test (Practical) at the respective AVNL unit. Merit is decided solely on Written Test marks; the Trade Test syllabus is per Annexure-A of the official notification.
- Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager posts: CBT, followed by an Interview (50 marks, 15% weightage) assessing technical knowledge, prior work experience, initiative, and decision-making. Merit is decided on combined Written Exam and Interview performance.
- Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, Consultant posts: No written CBT. Candidates are assessed through Presentation, Experience, Expertise, Knowledge, and Interview, conducted at AVNL CO, Avadi.
- Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for Interview (other than Junior Technicians) or Trade Test (Junior Technicians) in a post:candidate ratio of 1:3 in order of merit within each category; the final ratio will be decided by AVNL management based on the number of qualifying candidates.
- Names of candidates shortlisted for CBT, Interview, or Trade Test, and final selections, will be notified on the AVNL website.
AVNL Recruitment 2026: Test Centres
The CBT will be held at: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur. Candidates must indicate their preferred test centre in the online application form. - Fill in the complete application form
- Upload photograph, signature, and required documents (DOB proof, Proof of Educational Qualification, Category Certificate, Apprenticeship Training Certificate, PwBD/Ex-Servicemen proof, if applicable)
- Preview the application form before submission
- Edit details if required (Name, Post Applied, Email ID, and Mobile Number cannot be changed once submitted)
- Submit the application by clicking "I Agree" and entering the Captcha
Step 3: Fee Payment
- Choose the payment mode and proceed to the Payment Gateway
- Do not refresh or navigate back during payment
- Verify fee details and pay the application fee online
- On successful payment confirmation, you will be redirected back to the submitted application form
- Download the Application/Registration form for your records
No document is required to be sent to AVNL by post; the downloaded application slip should be retained by the candidate for future reference.
Important Instructions
- Selection of Option for ALL Units wherever a post is available is mandatory to complete the application.
- Candidates should necessarily upload all required documents while applying; applications with incomplete or insufficient documents are liable to be rejected.
- Candidates are advised to apply for one post; in case of a clash in CBT dates, the candidate must choose one post/trade to appear for.
- The category once filled in the online application form cannot be changed.
- All computation of age, experience, and qualification requirements will be done with reference to the closing date of online registration.
- Where a qualifying degree does not mention the required specialization, candidates must submit a certificate from their University/Institution at the time of Interview/Trade Test clearly stating their specialization.
- Assistive devices/scribes for PwD candidates are allowed at the exam centre, subject to prior permission obtained by emailing [email protected].
- Any dispute arising from this recruitment can be instituted only in Chennai; courts/tribunals/forums at Chennai have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.
- AVNL reserves the right to cancel, restrict, curtail, or enlarge the number of vacancies at any time without notice.
- Selected candidates are subject to verification of educational/technical qualifications, category/disability certificate, experience certificate, and character & antecedents, and must be declared "Medically Fit" by a competent authority.
