Candidates who have not acquired the requisite educational qualification as on the closing date of the online application (18.08.2026) will not be eligible and need not apply. Where letter grades/CGPA/OGPA/SGPA are awarded, candidates must convert these to equivalent percentage as per their University/Board norms and be able to produce proof of conversion at the time of document verification.

Upper age relaxation is admissible as follows:
- Departmental candidates with at least 3 years of continuous and regular service in the same line or allied cadre as on the last date of receipt of application, as per Government of India Orders.
- 5 years' relaxation for children/family members of those who died in the 1984 Riots.
- Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands and not re-married, as per Government of India Orders.
- Meritorious sportspersons, as per Government of India Orders.

BARC Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection for all four posts (DR/01 to DR/04) will be based on performance in a personal interview. If the number of applications received is high, BARC reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for interview by conducting a screening test in the respective discipline. The decision of the Centre in this regard will be final and binding.
Nature of Duties
- Scientific Assistant/C (Psychologist): Hospital-based, Occupational Health Care-based, School and Community-based Counselling Services.
- Scientific Assistant/B (Pathology): Shift duties in the Pathology Laboratory, covering Emergency Laboratory, Phlebotomy, Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology (including virology facility), Blood Bank, and Immunology.
- Scientific Assistant/B (Radiography): Handling various X-ray machines, general radiography including portable X-rays for inwards and operation theatre, special radiological investigations, and handling advanced imaging modalities like computerised radiography, digital radiography, USG, CT, and MRI.
- Scientific Assistant/B (Nuclear Medicine Technologist): Performing nuclear medicine studies using radioisotopes on uptake probe, gamma camera SPECT systems, and PET/CT scanner; patient preparation and positioning; dispensing and administration of radiopharmaceuticals; data acquisition and analysis; equipment performance assurance; handling radioactive sources; and teaching support for HBNI academic programs including MD (Nuclear Medicine) and MSc courses in Nuclear Medicine Technology & Hospital Radiopharmacy and Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology.

BARC Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
- Only online applications will be accepted; the facility is open from 17.07.2026 to 18.08.2026.
- Fulfilling the eligibility requirements does not by itself qualify a candidate to be called for the written test/interview.
- Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation; BARC reserves the right to cancel, restrict, modify, or alter the recruitment process without notice.
- Wait-listed candidates will be offered appointment only if a candidate in the main list does not join; the wait list is valid for one year from the date of preparation of the select panel, or until a fresh recruitment is notified, whichever is earlier.
- Furnishing false information will lead to disqualification at any stage, including after appointment.
- Distance-education B.Sc./M.Sc. qualifications must be from institutions recognized by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB-UGC); technical programmes must be recognized by AICTE, NCTE, or the Ministry of HRD, as applicable.
- SC/ST/OBC candidates must indicate their category in the application, even when applying against a UR vacancy, and furnish proof at the time of written test/interview; failure to do so will result in the candidate being treated as General category.
- Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mumbai for 2 to 3 days for the written test/interview.
- Posting of selected candidates will be at the discretion of the Competent Authority, and they are liable to serve in any part of India, in any Constituent Unit of the Department of Atomic Energy; duties may involve shift work, round-the-clock shifts, and field work.
- Candidates may answer the written test/interview in Hindi or English, as per their choice.
- SC/ST outstation candidates called for the written test/interview will be paid to-and-fro second-class railway fare by the shortest route as per rules, subject to submission of the TA Claim form and supporting documents; this is not admissible to those already in Central/State Government service or PSUs.
- Records of non-selected candidates will not be preserved beyond 6 months from the date of formation of the Select List.
