CSIR-CECRI Karaikudi Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Trade (ITI) Apprentices
- Candidates must have passed the particular trade (except Glass Former and Processor) of the NCVT pattern designated by the Director General of Employment & Training (D.G.E.&T).
- Candidates must be registered as Trade Apprentices in the NAPS portal before the date of the walk-in interview.
Graduate (Degree) / Technician (Diploma) Apprentices
- A full-time graduate degree granted by a recognized university/institution in the relevant discipline.
- A full-time Diploma in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/University/Institution in the relevant discipline.
- Graduates/Technicians who passed their qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible to apply.
Not Eligible Conditions
- Candidates holding any Post Graduation qualification (including an integrated PG course).
- Candidates who passed from institutions not approved by AICTE/DOTE/UGC.
- Candidates who have already undergone, or are currently pursuing, apprenticeship training in the same qualification as per the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.
- Candidates with one year or more of work experience in any organization after acquiring the essential qualification.
- Sandwich diplomas, private diplomas, and part-time/distance/short-term/certificate courses are not acceptable.

- Candidates for ITI Trade apprenticeship must register on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) before the interview date, watching the demo videos for candidate registration and profile completion.
- Candidates for Graduate/Technician apprenticeship must register on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in), wait at least one day for enrolment verification and approval, then log in to submit an Establishment Request to CSIR-CECRI, upload a resume, and apply.
- During registration, candidates must enter their name and their father's/mother's name exactly as given in Aadhaar, PAN, or any other valid government ID, since the name cannot be modified later and will appear on the National Apprenticeship Certificate.
- Selected candidates will be provided accommodation on the Institute campus, if available, subject to a license fee.
- Successful apprenticeship trainees will be awarded a National Apprenticeship Certificate by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)/Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT).
