Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must possess the essential qualification prescribed against each post code such as BE/BTech/ME/MTech/MSc in relevant Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Physics branches or BSc/3-year Diploma, from a recognized university or institution, as mentioned in the notification table.
• For PAT-I and PAT-II posts, higher emoluments are admissible to candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship) or GATE or other national level examinations conducted by central government departments and agencies.
• For JRF, SRF and Project Associate posts, candidates must fulfil qualification and experience criteria including NET/GATE or equivalent national examination and specified research experience wherever mentioned.
• For Project Assistant-II, candidates should have BSc or 3-year Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Mechatronics/Computer Science/IT or equivalent with desirable experience in PCB design, system integration, data acquisition and hardware debugging.
• All eligibility conditions including essential qualification and experience must be fulfilled as on the last date of submission of online application.

Age Limit (as on 14-12-2025)

• Maximum age for all advertised project staff positions is 35 years as on the last date of receipt of online applications.
• Age relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates by 5 years and for OBC candidates by 3 years, as per Government of India / CSIR guidelines.

Salary/Stipend

• PAT-I: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month for candidates qualified through CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship) / GATE or other eligible national level examinations; Rs. 25,000/- + HRA per month for others.
• PAT-II: Rs. 35,000/- + HRA per month for candidates qualified through CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship) / GATE or other eligible national level examinations; Rs. 28,000/- + HRA per month for others.
• Project Assistant-II: Rs. 20,000/- per month (fixed) as indicated in the vacancy table.
• JRF: Rs. 37,000/- per month as per notification.
• SRF: Rs. 42,000/- per month as per notification.
• Project Associate-I and Project Associate-II: Emoluments as per ANRF/OM/N-01/2024 indicated in the table (e.g., Rs. 30,000/- or Rs. 33,000/- per month for specified posts).

Selection Process

• Applications received through the online portal will be screened by a duly constituted Standing Screening Committee, which may fix additional criteria to shortlist candidates as per project requirements.
• Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email and/or institute website and will be called for online interview through Microsoft Teams or in-person interview, as notified.
• Final selection will be based on performance in the interview and verification of original documents; CSIR-CEERI’s decision regarding the selection process will be final and binding.
• Panels may be prepared by the Selection Committee for future engagement in different projects as and when required.

• After successful submission of the online application form, candidates must take a printout of the submitted form for their records.
• Candidates should frequently visit the institute website for updates regarding shortlisting, interview schedule, and further instructions.
• At the time of joining, selected candidates must produce all original testimonials including educational certificates, mark sheets, experience certificates, application form printout and a passport size photograph; failing which the engagement can be withdrawn.

• Candidates who have already served CSIR-CEERI or any other CSIR lab/institute as project staff (Project Assistant, PAT-I/II, JRF/SRF in contract R&D projects, Research Associate, etc.) for a total of 6 years or more are not eligible; those with less than 6 years can be engaged only for the remaining period up to 6 years.
• Initial tenure of engagement will be six months or co-terminus with the project or duration of the assigned job, whichever is earlier, and may be extended in steps of six months based on performance, subject to the overall 6-year limit.
• These positions are purely temporary and will not confer any right to claim any regular post in CSIR-CEERI/CSIR.
• Candidates must upload scanned copies of required documents on the Project Staff Recruitment Portal, including educational certificates (10th, 12th, Diploma, Graduation, Post Graduation), date of birth proof, category certificate, NET/GATE certificate, experience certificates and other relevant documents.
• If at any stage it is found that the candidate does not fulfil eligibility criteria or has furnished false information, candidature may be cancelled and the candidate can be debarred from future interviews.
• Number of positions may increase or decrease depending on requirements and HRA will be admissible as per CSIR guidelines and availability of funds in the project.
