Eligibility Criteria

  • Common Age Limits:
    • Senior Project Associate (Sr. PAT): Maximum 40 years (as on 31.12.2025).

    • Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women, 3 years for OBC as per Govt. of India instructions.

      • Hands-on experience with sensor-based data sources (LiDAR, camera, stereo etc.) on autonomous vehicles/ADAS.
      • Familiarity with Reinforcement Learning and Computer Vision techniques; knowledge of simulators like CARLA.
      • Experience in setting up and analysing experiments for ML/RL; familiarity with version control (Git).
      • At least one peer-reviewed publication in AI/ML/CV/NLP; CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship) / GATE qualified; MS (by Research)/BS & MS (Dual Degree) desirable.
    • Job Description:
      • Running experiments in RL simulators and real vehicles, benchmarking, dataset generation.
      • Field work for data collection on autonomous vehicle platforms.
      • Writing reports, presentations, documentation, research articles and any other project-assigned work.

Salary/Stipend

  • Senior Project Associate (Sr. PAT): Rs. 42,000/- per month + HRA (consolidated as per project rules).
  • Project Associate-II (PAT-II):
    • Rs. 35,000/- + HRA for NET/GATE or equivalent national-level exam qualified candidates.
    • Rs. 28,000/- + HRA for others.
  • Project Associate-I (PAT-I):
    • Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for NET/GATE or equivalent qualified candidates.
    • Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others.
  • All emoluments are purely project-based, temporary and without any claim to regular CSIR/CSIR-4PI posts.

Selection Process

  • Engagement is purely temporary and contract-based, initially for one year and co-terminus with the project; extendable based on project tenure and performance.
  • Selection will be based on screening of applications followed by personal interview.
  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on their applications; only shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview through online mode.
  • Interview details (date, mode, link) will be intimated by email to shortlisted candidates.
  • A written test may be conducted if necessary, depending on the number and suitability of applicants.
  • CSIR-4PI reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts, downgrade positions to suitable level if no eligible candidates are found, and draw a panel of selected candidates valid for one year for similar project requirements.
  • Performance of project staff will be reviewed every six months; unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination.
