Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications (As on 23/02/2026)
- Graduate from a recognized University
- Typing speed of not less than 35 words per minute on Computer
- All educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/Institution/Board recognised by Government of India or approved by Government Regulatory Bodies
- Final result should have been declared on or before the closing date for receipt of online applications (23/02/2026)
- Only such candidates who possess essential qualifications as on the last date of submission of online applications need to apply

Important Notes:
- Date of Birth as recorded in Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate/Mark-Sheet or equivalent certificate only will be accepted for determining age eligibility
- No subsequent request for change of Date of Birth will be considered or entertained
- There shall be no upper age limit for persons who are in regular service in Delhi High Court, subject to fulfilling requisite educational qualification
- This relaxation in upper age limit will not be applicable to candidates working in other Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Delhi District Courts, etc.
- Age relaxation applies only to PwBD having benchmark disability to the extent of 40% or above for categories for which vacancy has been reserved

Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for the following stages of examination:
Stage-I: Preliminary Examination (CBT Objective Type) - Qualifying Stage
- Total Questions: 120 Questions
- Total Marks: 120 Marks
- Total Time: 120 Minutes
- Negative Marking: 25% (deduction of 0.25 Mark for each wrong answer)
Paper Structure:
- Part-I: English Language & Comprehension - 45 Questions = 45 Marks (Vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension Passage, Idioms & Phrases, One Word Substitution, Gender, Degrees, Preposition, Articles, Fill in the Blanks, Shuffling of Sentence Parts, Spot the Error, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect Narration, etc.)
- Part-II: General Awareness/Knowledge and Current Affairs/Events - 45 Questions = 45 Marks (30 Questions on Salient Features of Constitution of India, Indian Judiciary, Sports & Games, Art & Culture, Indian History, Polity & Geography, Everyday Science, National/International Organizations/Institutions/Awards, Famous Personalities, Important Days, Inventions & Discoveries; 15 Questions on Current Affairs/Events)
- Part-III: General Intelligence, Reasoning Ability & Numerical/Arithmetic Ability - 30 Questions = 30 Marks (Verbal and non-verbal types - Analogies, Similarities & Differences, Classification, Problem Solving/Decision Making, Relationship Concepts, BODMAS, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Time-Speed-Distance, Time & Work, Ratio & Proportion, etc.)
Qualifying Criteria:
- General Category: 60 Marks (50% of 120 Marks)
- Reserved Category (including PwBD): 54 Marks (45% of 120 Marks)
- Candidates to the extent of 15 times the number of vacancies in each category will be called for Stage-II
Stage-II: Main (Descriptive) Examination
- Total Marks: 100 Marks
- Total Time: 120 Minutes
- Part-A: Essay (250 words = 40 Marks) & Letter (10 Marks)
- Part-B: Grammar (30 Marks) & Translation (25 words = 20 Marks)
Minimum Passing Marks:
- General Category: 50 Marks (50% of 100 Marks)
- Reserved Category (including PwBD): 45 Marks (45% of 100 Marks)
- Candidates to the extent of 6 times the number of vacancies in each category will be called for Stage-III
Stage-III: English Typing Test - Qualifying Stage
- Duration: 10 minutes
- Minimum Speed Required: 35 words per minute on Computer
- Calculation Method: Characters with space for calculating typing speed
- Permissible Mistakes: 3% of total words typed (rounded to 0.5 for 0.01 to 0.49 and to 1.0 for 0.51 to 0.99)
- All successful/qualified candidates will be called for Stage-IV (Interview)
Stage-IV: Interview
- Maximum Marks: 15 Marks
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: As prescribed
Final Merit List:
- Final select/merit list will be prepared by adding marks secured in Stage-II (Main Descriptive Examination) and Stage-IV (Interview) only
- Stage-I (Preliminary Examination) and Stage-III (English Typing Test) are qualifying in nature
- There shall be no rounding off of marks at any stage of examination
Tie Resolution:
- Total Marks in Stage-II (Main Descriptive Examination)
- Total Marks in Stage-IV (Interview)
- Date of Birth (older candidate gets preference over younger)
Score Normalization:
- If exam is held in multiple shifts, normalization of scores will be done considering variation in difficulty level
- Normalization will be done using "Score Normalization Based on Deviation Method" Formula
General Information/Instructions
- All instructions are to be complied with strictly by candidates
- Delhi High Court reserves the right to alter the number of vacancies, modify examination process, and fix minimum cut-off marks without assigning any reason
- Decision of Delhi High Court shall be final in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications/candidature, mode of examination, selection and appointment
- Candidates are advised to go through requisite requirements and satisfy themselves of eligibility before applying
- Allowing any candidate to appear in examination does not imply that eligibility has been verified
- Candidate's eligibility is subject to final verification by competent authority
- Medium of Examination shall be English language only
- Candidates must write their name, date of birth, parent's/spouse name strictly as given in matriculation certificate
- Candidates must fill correct and active email addresses and mobile numbers as correspondence may be made through email/SMS
- No off-line application will be accepted/entertained
- No scrutiny of applications for eligibility will be undertaken at any stage prior to Interview stage
- Candidature will be accepted only provisionally and subject to scrutiny at stage of Document Verification
- Copies of supporting documents will be sought only from candidates shortlisted for Interview
- Candidates must invariably produce and submit true copies of documentary proofs when demanded
- Candidates belonging to reserved categories must produce valid certificates issued by Competent Authority on or before cut-off date (23/02/2026)
- OBC candidates must possess OBC Certificate issued by Competent Authority of Government of NCT of Delhi for castes recognised/notified as OBC by Government of NCT of Delhi
- OBC candidates also required to submit Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate issued in current financial year 2025-2026 (between 01/04/2025 and 31/03/2026)
- EWS candidates must possess Income and Asset Certificate issued under prescribed format by authorities on last date of submission of application
- PwBD candidates suffering from disabilities of 40% or more are eligible for relaxation of age and marks
- PwBD candidates who wish to opt for scribe or compensatory time must submit Certificate and affidavit as prescribed
- PwBD candidates opting for scribe facility or compensatory time will be allowed 40 minutes additional time
- Facility of scribe will also be provided to PwD candidates having disability less than 40% and having difficulty in writing
- Certificate of Disability issued as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 will be considered valid for period specified therein
- Candidates already in Government Service must produce No Objection Certificate at Interview stage
- Candidates must carry two passport size colour photographs and original Photo ID Proof to examination venue
- Candidates indulging in malpractices/irregularities shall be debarred for all times from Delhi High Court recruitment processes apart from legal action
- Candidates must disclose details if any criminal proceeding has been initiated or FIR lodged against them
- Candidature will be entirely provisional and mere issuance of Admit Card or appearance at examination/interview shall not entitle any claim for appointment
- Tentative Answer Keys will be placed on website after examination; candidates may submit online representations within stipulated time on payment of Rs. 100 per question (non-refundable)
- There shall be no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of scores at any stage
- No TA/DA will be payable to candidates for appearing in any stage of examination or interview
- Selected candidates will have to work even at odd hours and on holidays if required

- Note down system generated registration/application number for all future references
- Application Forms to be filled up online by visiting website www.delhihighcourt.nic.in
- Upload scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (100 KB to 200 KB)
- Photograph should not be more than three months old from date of publication of notice
- Image dimension should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height)
- Photograph should be without cap/mask and spectacles
- Upload left hand thumb impression in JPEG format (50 KB to 200 KB); in case of unavailability, right hand thumb impression may be used
- Upload scanned signature in JPEG format (50 KB to 150 KB)
- Applications with illegible/blurred signature will be rejected
- Writing full name in Capital Letters will not be accepted as signature

Correction Window (Up to 27/02/2026, 2000 hours):
- Period of 3 days provided after closing date to enable candidates to correct/modify online application parameters
- Candidate allowed to correct and re-submit modified/corrected application two times during correction window
- Only those candidates allowed to make corrections whose completed applications along with payment of requisite fee have been received within specified period
- Latest modified application will be treated as valid one and previous application(s) will be cancelled
- Correction charges: Rs. 200 for first time, Rs. 500 for second time
- After expiry of correction window, no change/correction/modification will be allowed under any circumstances
- Requests received in any form (post, fax, email, by hand) shall not be entertained and will be summarily rejected
