Reservation: As this is a voluntary, non-salaried position and not a government job recruitment, no reservation roster is applied to the posts; however, adequate representation will be given to all sections of society as per the scheme, and the panel will be valid for one year.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum educational qualification: Matric (10th pass).
- Preference to candidates actively engaged in social service, legal awareness, community activities, SHGs, NGOs, etc.
- Advocates are not eligible to apply for PLV positions.
- Previously selected Para Legal Volunteers may also apply again.
Roles and Responsibilities of Para Legal Volunteers
- To create legal awareness in their area and work as a bridge between victims in need of legal aid and the District Legal Services Authority.
- To assist in legal aid work at the DLSA office and Legal Aid Centres as and when directed.
- To participate actively in legal awareness camps and outreach programmes organized by DLSA.
- To perform any other legal services work assigned by the District Legal Services Authority under NALSA PLV Scheme.
Honorarium & Allowances
| Daily Honorarium | Rs. 750/- per day under NALSA PLV Scheme (PLV) for those specific days on which DLSA assigns special work or when the PLV brings a person from the village for legal aid / ADR centre or actively participates in legal awareness camps. |

Selection Process
The advertisement mainly lays down eligibility, instructions and application procedure; selection of PLVs will be done by District Legal Services Authority, Samastipur as per NALSA PLV Scheme guidelines.
- Scrutiny of applications submitted in prescribed format along with required documents.
- Preparation of shortlist/panel on the basis of eligibility, local residence, social service interest and other criteria fixed by DLSA.
- Issue of interview call letter (interview letter format is enclosed in the notification) to shortlisted candidates.
- Interview and interaction at DLSA Samastipur for final selection.
- Preparation of final panel of PLVs; panel period will be valid for one year.
