ESIC Bihta Senior Resident Vacancy 2026 (Department-wise)
Note: Departments 15–25 are Super Specialty posts (Senior Sl. Nos. 15–25 in the source table); the vacancy for these departments depends on the availability of Teaching Faculty in the respective department, and category-wise reservation was not specified for these posts in the notification. ESIC Bihta Senior Resident Eligibility Criteria 2026
- MD/MS/DNB in the concerned Speciality from a recognized University.
- For TB & Chest, MD/DNB in Pulmonary Medicine, Chest Medicine, or Respiratory Medicine is also eligible.
- Eligibility as per the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025.
- Candidate must hold a valid NMC/State Medical Council registration.
- Candidates awaiting final PG result may apply but must produce the passing certificate before the interview.
- Those appearing for the Final Year PG Exam in September 2026 may also apply, but must produce the certificate before the offer of appointment.
Note: The date for eligibility of qualifying degree/experience is reckoned as of the date of interview.
ESIC Bihta Senior Resident Age Limit
Note: EWS candidates must submit the EWS Certificate as per Annexure-I of DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt(Res), dated 31.01.2019. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must not be issued more than 1 year before the date of the walk-in interview, and must be issued by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer (or equivalent) as per the Central Government format.
ESIC Bihta Senior Resident Pay & Terms of Contract
- General Medicine Senior Residents will be posted to Medical ICU, Respiratory ICU, Dialysis Unit and Casualty on rotation, in addition to departmental duties.
- General Surgery Senior Residents will be posted in Trauma Care Ward and Surgical ICU on rotation.
- Orthopaedics, General Surgery and General Medicine Senior Residents must perform compulsory on-site Casualty duty as per hospital schedule.
- No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining.
- Accommodation is available on campus; mutual exchange of HRA with accommodation is not allowed until accommodation is available.
- Attendance must be marked manually as well as on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily.
ESIC Bihta Senior Resident Selection Process 2026
This is a walk-in recruitment; there is no written exam or CBT.
- Selection is made purely on the basis of credentials and performance in the walk-in interview before the Selection Board.
- No candidate is allowed to appear for the interview without verification of original documents.
- Opportunity to interview is provisional, subject to detailed scrutiny of eligibility criteria.
- Results will be displayed on www.mcpatna.esic.gov.in and www.esic.gov.in (Recruitment Section); the Offer of Appointment will be sent by email.
- The Dean, ESIC MCH, Bihta, reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment process at any stage.
How to Appear for the ESIC Bihta Walk-in Interview
- Download and fill the Application Form attached with the official advertisement, in the prescribed format only, one application per post.
- Attach copies of all required documents (see Documents section below) with the application form.
- If the application fee is applicable (₹500 for categories other than SC/ST/ESIC regular employee/Female/Ex-Servicemen/PH), prepare a Demand Draft in favour of "ESIC HOSPITAL BIHTA SB ACC-2", payable at Bihta, Patna (SBI Branch Code 01217). Do not send the DD by post.
- Report to the College Council Room, College Building, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Bihta, Patna, between 09:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the date applicable to your department (08, 09 or 10 September 2026).
- Carry all original documents for verification along with self-attested copies; candidates will not be allowed to appear without original document verification.
- Appear before the Selection Board for the interview on the same day.
Important: Application forms will not be accepted after 11:00 AM on the scheduled date. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing at the walk-in interview or for submitting documents.

- Admit Card / Class 10th certificate for proof of Date of Birth
- All mark sheets, attempt and degree certificate of MBBS
- Mark sheets, attempt and degree certificate of MD/MS/DNB/Other, if any
- EWS/OBC/SC/ST certificate, when applicable
- NMC/State Medical Council Registration Certificate (updated)
- Copies of publications/training/attendance at conferences, workshops, or seminars, if any
- Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card (any 2 of the 3)
- NOC from current employer, if applicable
- Relieving certificate from previous employer, if applicable
- Experience certificate, if applicable
Important Conditions
- Selection to these posts is purely contractual and does not confer any right of confirmation or continuation.
- If suitable category candidates are unavailable, seats may be filled for less than 45 days by candidates of other categories on merit basis.
- Unfilled EWS category seats are not carried forward as backlog vacancies; other category candidates may apply provisionally, but will be considered under UR and selected purely on merit.
- Candidates with incomplete or inadequate documents may not be interviewed; if allowed provisionally, results will be withheld until the required documents are submitted within the stipulated time.
- All candidates must have an updated Medical Registration certificate reflecting their post-MD/MS/DNB qualification; if not available, proof of "applied for" must be shown at the interview.
- Candidates employed in Government/Autonomous/Statutory institutions must submit an NOC from their current employer at the walk-in interview, or a copy of "applied for NOC" if immediately unavailable.
- All selected candidates must have a Relieving Letter from their current employer before joining.
- Wrong declarations or submission of false information will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage.
