Eligibility Criteria
Training is for candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations during the years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Category I – Graduate Apprentices (Full Time Course):
A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline.
OR a Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline.
OR Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by State/Central Government as equivalent to above.
Where only Grade Points are awarded, conversion to percentage shall follow University/Institute rules; if not defined, Aggregate Grade Points shall be multiplied by 10.
Category II – Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Full Time Course):
A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
OR a Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in relevant discipline.
OR a Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognized by State/Central Government as equivalent.
Commercial Practice: Diploma in Commercial Practice granted by an Institution recognized by State/Central Government.
Candidates with equivalent qualifications must submit Equivalency Certificate from competent authority; without this, candidature will not be considered.
Minimum marks: 60% in qualifying examination; for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, requirement is relaxed to 50% (Second Class).
Candidates must be above 18 years of age as on 01.01.2026.
Government of India reservation rules for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD will be followed, and only prescribed certificate formats available on HOCL website will be accepted.
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship Training under Apprentices Act in any Government/Public Sector/Private organization are not eligible to apply.
Salary/Stipend
Graduate Apprentices (Category I):
Monthly stipend: Rs. 12,300/- (including Government share).
Duration of training: 01 year.
Technician Apprentices (Category II):
Monthly stipend: Rs. 10,900/- (including Government share).
Duration of training: 01 year.
During apprenticeship training, no travel expenses are admissible; boarding/lodging may be provided on standard rent if available, with subsidized canteen facility during office hours.
On completion of Apprenticeship, HOCL has no obligation to offer employment, and apprentices cannot claim right to employment based on completion of training.

Selection Process
Short-listing of candidates will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the minimum prescribed qualification for the respective discipline.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original certificates/documents, followed by Written Test / Skill Test / Interview.
Candidates must produce original certificates (age, qualification, caste, disability etc.) and self-attested copies at the time of verification; failure to produce originals will result in rejection.
Those who successfully complete certificate verification and Written/Skill Test/Interview will be provisionally considered for selection against notified training seats in order of merit and reservation, subject to medical fitness.
Category/reservation claimed in the initial online application alone will be considered; relevant certificates as per Govt. standards must be produced at verification, failing which reservation claim will be ignored and candidature treated as Unreserved.

Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility requirements before submitting applications.
