The total number of vacancies for IGIMS Patna Senior Resident (Anaesthesiology) Recruitment 2025 is 4 posts. Category-wise vacancy distribution is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Medical qualification included in Schedule I & II of the MCI Act.
• NMC recognized P.G qualification of MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology.
• Registration with Central or State Medical Council is mandatory.

2. Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 45 years.
• Upper age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for EBC (MBC)/BC, and 3 years for all categories of female candidates as per Government of Bihar rules.

3. Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens as mentioned in the notification.

• Cost of application form: Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) for general and other candidates.
• Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty only) for SC/ST candidates.
• Fee payable in the form of Demand Draft in favour of “Director, IGIMS”, payable at Patna.
• Candidates downloading the application form from the website must submit the Demand Draft along with the form.

Salary/Stipend

• The post is under Senior Residency (89 days) with Pay + NPA and other allowances admissible as per rules of the Institute.
• The post is non-practicing; any kind of private practice (direct or indirect, including laboratory practice) is strictly prohibited and violation may lead to termination.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting of candidates based on eligibility and bio-data by the Selection Committee.
• Walk-in interview at the specified venue, date and time.
• Verification of all original certificates/documents regarding age, qualification, registration and other claims at the time of interview.
• Final selection as per the decision of the Institute’s Selection Committee; merit panel valid for 6 months.

• Candidates employed in Government/Semi-Government departments must produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of interview; otherwise they will not be considered.
• Candidates not in employment must submit a written declaration that they are neither employed nor pursuing any course anywhere.
• SC/ST candidates must attach caste certificate issued by the Circle Officer of the concerned District/Circle of Bihar.
• EBC (MBC)/BC candidates must attach caste certificate along with “creamy layer exemption” certificate issued by the Circle Officer of the concerned District/Circle of Bihar if claiming reservation.
• Benefit of reservation will be given only to Bihar domicile candidates; candidates from outside Bihar will not get reservation benefits.
• Number of vacancies may increase or decrease as per institute requirements.
• In case of non-availability of eligible female candidates (where applicable), male candidates may be considered.
• Stay in campus is compulsory if accommodation is provided; otherwise HRA is admissible as per rules.
• Selected candidates must submit a legal bond to deposit an amount equivalent to one month’s emoluments for each year of senior residency not completed if they resign mid-way.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview; canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• The Director reserves the right to accept/reject any or all applications and cancel the advertisement without assigning any reason.
• A declaration regarding appearance before NMC team for the current year for any medical college must be submitted with the application.
