Posts, Eligibility and Pay
Eligibility
To be empanelled as a Doctor (on call) at IIM Calcutta, a candidate needs:
- An MBBS degree from a recognized medical college
- Completion of the one-year compulsory internship
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council
A minimum of 3 (Three) years of relevant work experience is preferred. The notice does not make it compulsory.
Nature of Engagement
Empanelled Doctors will work on a call basis, as and when required. This is mainly when the existing Doctors of the IIM Calcutta Medical Unit are on leave or otherwise unavailable. The Medical Unit will contact empanelled Doctors when it needs them. Duty will be assigned to a Doctor only if they are available and willing to take it.
Honorarium

IIM Calcutta Doctors (on call) Job Description
The empanelled Doctor may be required to:
- Provide consultations and primary medical care to members of the IIM Calcutta community.
- Examine patients, assess their medical needs, recommend treatment and prescribe medicines as appropriate.
- Provide initial care in medical emergencies and arrange referral or transfer, where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Advise patients on follow-up care and preventive health.
- Coordinate with Medical Unit staff to support continuity of care.
