IRB GD Constable Selection Process 2026
- Stage I – Written Examination (Objective Type MCQ): All eligible candidates will appear for a 2‑hour written exam of 200 marks covering General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability and Test of English Language & Comprehension; candidates must score at least 33% aggregate marks to qualify.
- Stage II – Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Shortlisted candidates will undergo height and chest measurement followed by PET events such as 100 m and 1500 m race, high jump and long jump; only those meeting prescribed standards and timings will be considered further.
- Stage III – Trade Test / Medical Fitness (as applicable): For Constable Band and Constable Bugler posts, a trade test in playing band/bugle will be conducted, and all candidates must also qualify the medical fitness test including eye‑sight norms and absence of colour blindness.
- Final Merit List: The final IRB GD Constable merit list 2026 will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination, subject to qualifying PST, PET, trade test and medical examination, and considering reservation rules for APST, UR and Ex‑Servicemen categories.
