JNU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026 – Common Mistakes to Avoid

Many candidates lose their chance at JNU Non-Teaching Jobs 2026 not due to ineligibility, but due to avoidable errors during the application process. Here are the most critical mistakes to watch out for:

  1. Applying in the wrong category: OBC candidates must hold an NCL certificate issued on or after 01 April 2026. Certificates issued before this date are not valid for this advertisement.
  2. Not paying fee per post: If you apply for multiple posts, each post requires a separate fee payment. A single payment does not cover multiple applications.
  3. Ignoring experience requirements: Many posts - including Group A - have strict experience prerequisites in specific pay levels. Applying without meeting the experience clause will result in rejection at document verification.
  4. Uploading incorrect documents: Ensure your disability certificate (if applicable) clearly states a minimum 40% disability. Invalid certificates will disqualify PwD candidates from category benefits.
  5. Missing the OBC creamy layer clause: OBC candidates must ensure their certificate explicitly states they do not belong to the Creamy Layer and is valid for Central Government employment.
  6. Applying for UR vacancies as a reserved candidate expecting relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates opting for unreserved vacancies are not eligible for age relaxation or marks relaxation applicable to their category.
  7. Not reading the skill test norms carefully: For stenography posts, not more than 5% mistakes are permissible. Many candidates overlook this accuracy threshold and lose the qualifying stage despite adequate speed.
