Vacancy Details: Post-wise and Category-wise Breakdown

The 40 vacancies are spread across 11 distinct posts, with most seats falling under the Unreserved (UR) category and a smaller number reserved for EWS, OBC, and SC candidates. The table below gives the exact category-wise split for each post.

Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification and Experience

Each of the 11 posts has its own specific qualification and experience requirement, ranging from a 10th pass certificate for operator roles to engineering degrees for technical assistant posts. Here is the post-wise breakdown as given in the notification's annexures.

All posts are placed at the Rolling Stock Component Factory, Lote as the place of posting and headquarters.

Age Limit

Candidates for most posts must not exceed 40 years of age as on 01 July 2026, with the standard government relaxation applying to OBC-NCL and SC/ST candidates. Here is the exact age criteria as stated in the notification.

• The upper age limit for most posts is not more than 40 years as on 01.07.2026.
• For the Technician (Welder) post, the age limit is 40 years as on 30.06.2026.
• Age relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 5 years to SC/ST candidates, if applying against the post reserved for their respective category.
• Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is discretionary.

Salary / Monthly Remuneration

Monthly remuneration is grouped into three tiers based on the post, and it also varies slightly depending on whether the place of posting falls under A, B, or C class city classification. The consolidated figure already includes Basic Pay, DA, HRA, Conveyance, and Mobile Allowance.

The annual remuneration will increase by 4% of the consolidated remuneration after completion of every year, subject to KRCL's requirement and discretion. Additional facilities include applicable benefits under the New Labour Code-2026 (Insurance, Gratuity, Bonus), TA for official travel beyond the project area, complementary Railway Pass for duty travel, rest house/hotel reimbursement while on duty, 15 days of fully earned leave per 6 months (accumulable but not encashable), and 8 days of Casual Leave per year. No overtime allowance is paid, as the fixed monthly remuneration already accounts for occasional extra working hours.

Application Fee

The KRCL notification does not mention any application fee for this recruitment. Candidates only need to prepare the application form and required documents to attend the walk-in interview; however, selected candidates are required to execute an indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in favour of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited on a stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more.

Selection Process

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview process, with an optional elimination round if the number of candidates is high, followed by a final interview and merit list. Here are the steps as described in the notification.

1. Candidates arrive at the venue and register with the nominated KRCL official between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs on the interview date for their post.
2. A Group Discussion (GD) or another elimination round, such as a written test, may be introduced depending on the number of candidates; only those who clear this round proceed further.
3. Candidates are interviewed by a nominated Committee, and a merit list is drawn based on interview performance, qualification, and post-qualification experience.
4. The decision of the Nominated Committee of KRCL is final and binding.

After preliminary screening of applications submitted in person, only provisionally eligible candidates will be interviewed. Candidates should come prepared to stay for a minimum of 2 days, if required, at their own cost, as no train/bus fare or TA/DA will be paid by the Corporation.

Required Documents

Candidates must carry original certificates along with one set of self-attested photocopies to the walk-in interview, and applications missing any of these documents may be rejected outright. Here is the complete list.

• Self-attested copies of certificates in proof of qualification (as specified for the relevant post)
• Self-attested copy of Proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/SSC Certificate/Birth Certificate)
• Copy of Caste certificate in support of claims, in the format required for Central Government employment (for OBC-NCL candidates)
• Copy of service certificate in support of claims for Ex-servicemen, if applicable
• Two recent passport-size photographs
• Self-attested copy of Experience Certificate issued by the previous employer
• Character certificate from a Gazetted Officer/Executive Officer, certifying good moral character

Applications not conforming to the prescribed format (Annexure-A), or having illegible/ambiguous or missing certificates, will be summarily rejected.

This recruitment does not use an online application system - candidates must report directly to the interview venue with a completed physical application form and all supporting documents. Here are the steps to follow.

Terms of Contract and Important Instructions

These are contractual, fixed-term positions with specific conditions on tenure, transferability, and termination that differ from a regular permanent job. Candidates should be aware of the following before applying.

• The contract period is initially 1 year, extendable further based on satisfactory performance, mutual consent, and KRCL's requirement; remuneration may be revised from the 2nd year onward at the Corporation's discretion.
• Selected candidates can be posted and transferred anytime, anywhere within KRCL establishments during the contract period.
• These posts are not regular establishment posts; KRCL maintains a standby panel of candidates beyond requirement, as per merit.
• The contract can be terminated by either side with one month's notice or payment in lieu thereof.
• Selected candidates must execute an agreement and indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in favour of KRCL on a stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more.
• Candidates will not be absorbed into KRCL's regular service and must give a written undertaking to that effect.
• Selected candidates must pass a prescribed medical examination before the contract is entered into.
• Selected candidates must be able to join at the project site within a maximum of 30 days after the offer of appointment is issued.
• No accommodation, food, or mess allowance will be provided by KRCL.
• Any canvassing will result in disqualification of the candidate at any stage of selection.
