The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the resignation/ seat withdrawal facility for candidates who joined a seat in Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 and either did not upgrade in Round 2 (float candidates) or chose to retain their Round 1 seat (freeze candidates). As per the official MCC notice, eligible candidates can resign or withdraw their joined seat in online mode till 6:00 PM on 15 September 2026 without forfeiture of the security deposit. Candidates who miss this deadline will have their security deposit forfeited if they resign later.

Important Instructions from the MCC Notice
- Float candidates must generate the Seat Withdrawal Slip themselves by logging into their own account online.
- Freeze candidates cannot resign online by themselves - their seat withdrawal must be processed through the Nodal Officer of the allotted institute.
- If the Resignation Letter/Seat Withdrawal Slip is not generated through the official MCC portal, the resignation will be treated as "Null and Void."
- Any resignation completed after the stipulated deadline will attract forfeiture of the security deposit.
- Candidates should not rely on informal communication (such as emails to the college alone) as proof of resignation unless it is accompanied by the portal-generated document.
