1. Educational Qualification

• Qualifications must be as per UGC norms for Assistant Professor in Physics (IIRBS).
• Candidates are required to provide:

  – Ph.D. details where applicable,
  – Proof that journals are UGC-approved/peer-reviewed and impact factor details for published articles,

• Degrees obtained from Universities/Institutions outside Kerala must be accompanied by equivalency/eligibility certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University.

2. Age Limit

• As per UGC Regulations for appointment of Assistant Professors.
• Maximum age limit: 70 years as on 01/01/2025, including retired teachers from Colleges/Universities.

3. Other Conditions

• Reservation rotation is specified against vacancies; candidates applying under community/PH/EWS quota must attach valid certificates.
• Natives of states other than Kerala are not eligible for posts notified exclusively under community reservation quota (not applicable to this OC post, but stated in general conditions).

Selection Process

• Selection will be made based on scrutiny of:

Important Dates

Salary/Stipend

• UGC qualified candidates: Consolidated pay of ₹40,000 per month.
• Non-UGC candidates: In the absence of UGC qualified candidates, non-UGC candidates will be considered with consolidated pay of ₹33,000 per month.
• Remuneration is purely consolidated for the contract period of the academic year 2025–2026.

Instructions

• The engagement is purely on contract basis for the current academic year, up to 15 April 2026.
• Candidates under community reservation must attach Community and Non-Creamy Layer certificates; PH/EWS candidates must attach relevant certificates as per State Government criteria; SC/ST candidates need not submit Non-Creamy Layer Certificate.
• Natives of states other than Kerala should not apply for posts notified exclusively under community reservation quota (clarified in general conditions).
• Selected candidates must execute an agreement with Mahatma Gandhi University as per existing norms.
