Eligibility Criteria for NII Research Associate-I 2026
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a PhD degree in any field of Biological Sciences or Chemical Sciences with at least 1 research publication in a standard refereed journal as listed in Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
Desirable: Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: molecular biology, cell biology (bacterial and mammalian cell culture), protein biochemistry, structural biology, and animal handling.

- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project “Structural and Dynamic studies of SARS-CoV-2 proteins” funded by DBT, tenable till 18.09.2026.
- The selected candidate will be appointed on contract for one year or duration of the project, whichever is shorter, at a time.
- No hostel/housing facility will be provided.
- Applicants should clearly mention their category (SC/ST/OBC/PH) and attach documentary proof.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
- Applications containing incomplete information shall not be entertained.
- Date of passing the examinations must be indicated clearly in the application.

Salary/Stipend
The selected candidate will receive consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications and experience.
