A total of 199 training seats have been announced across 16 posts under various Departments/Heads of Department of Govt. of Odisha. The number of vacancies is provisional and subject to change without prior notice at the discretion of the Commission, Requisitioning Authorities or the Government. PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) - Reservation Position for Special Category

Candidates having permanent disability of not below 40% are eligible to apply under PwD category as per the Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Govt. of Odisha Resolution No.1843/SSEPD Dtd.25.02.2021. PwBD candidates must upload a valid scanned copy of the original disability certificate (not photocopy) and UDID card issued by the Competent Authority. Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Sports Person reservation is also applicable for certain posts as per the notification.

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on 01.01.2025. Candidates must possess a valid e-Mail ID and Mobile Number while applying and keep them active till the completion of the recruitment process.

OSSC CGLRE Specialist-2025 Recruitment 2026 - Application Fee

Examination fee is payable through online mode only via the Odisha Treasury portal linked with the online application form. The examination fee paid shall be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the first stage of the recruitment examination. Applications without payment of examination fees (except SC/ST/PwD candidates) will be taken as incomplete and shall be liable for rejection. OSSC CGLRE Specialist-2025 Recruitment 2026 - Selection Process

The competitive examination shall comprise three stages. The Commission at its discretion will conduct the examination either through OMR or through CBRE (Computer Based Recruitment Examination) mode. A Normalisation Formula will be applied if the examination is conducted in multiple batches using different question paper sets.

Stage I - Preliminary Examination (One Paper)

Indicative Syllabus: Arithmetic (10th Standard), Data Interpretation (Chart, Graph, Table, Data Sufficiency), Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, General Mental Ability, Current Events of National and International Importance, Computer/Internet Awareness.

Candidates numbering a minimum of 5 (five) times of the vacancies post-wise and category-wise shall be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination based on marks secured in the Preliminary Examination.

Stage II(a) - Main Written Examination (Technical Paper)

The Preliminary and Main Examination shall be conducted in both Odia and English except for Paper-I of the Main exam (language paper). The subject of the technical paper, once chosen, is final and cannot be changed later. Post-wise detailed syllabus for the Technical Paper is given in Annexure-D of the advertisement. Candidates applying for the post of Senior Economic Investigator must choose one subject from 13 subjects listed in the syllabus in the Online Application Form.

Stage II(b) - Computer Skill Test

All posts except Inspector of Legal Metrology (FS&CW Department), Laboratory Assistant (FS&CW Department), Junior Laboratory Assistant (Directorate of Factories & Boilers), and Junior Laboratory Assistant (State Food Testing Laboratory under Commissioner of Food Safety) are required to qualify the Computer Skill Test. Qualifying marks in Computer Skill Test will be 50% of the total marks. Syllabus in Annexure-C of the advertisement.

Stage III - Certificate Verification

Candidates numbering 1.5 times of the vacancies advertised (post-wise and category-wise) shall be shortlisted for Certificate Verification based on marks in the Technical Paper(s) of the Main Written Examination and having qualified in Computer Skill Test/Skill Test wherever applicable. Candidates who fail to appear for certificate/document verification will not be considered for final selection. Candidates will be required to produce original academic certificates, mark sheets, caste certificate, special category certificate, NOC (if Govt. servant), and other documents as per the admission letter along with self-attested photocopies.

Merit list tie-break criteria (in order): (i) Marks in Preliminary Examination, (ii) Date of birth (older candidate placed higher), (iii) Alphabetical order.

Who should NOT apply for OSSC CGLRE Specialist-2025 Recruitment 2026?

  • Candidates who are not Indian Citizens or cannot read, write and speak Odia fluently, and do not have the specified Odia language proof (Middle School/Matriculation/Class-VII/ME standard Odia test certificate).
  • Candidates whose educational qualification (degree discipline/specialization) does not match the specific post-wise educational qualification prescribed in the advertisement.
  • Candidates outside the age band of 21–42 years as on 01.01.2025 (even by a single day), except those entitled to category-based relaxation.
  • Candidates who do not have the requisite educational qualification by 11-07-2026 (last date of submission of Online Application Form).
  • Candidates not willing to be posted anywhere in Odisha; all posts are State Cadre posts and candidates may be asked to serve anywhere in Odisha on selection.
  • Government/PSU employees who cannot produce a valid "No Objection Certificate" from their controlling authority at the time of application or certificate verification.
  • PwBD candidates whose disability type does not fall under the eligible categories notified for the specific post they intend to apply for (functional classification and physical requirements vary post-wise).
  • Candidates with only a temporary/likely-to-improve disability, as PwBD reservation requires permanent disability of not less than 40%.

Common mistakes / What to check before applying OSSC CGLRE Specialist-2025 Recruitment 2026?

  • Selecting posts for which you do not have the exact prescribed educational qualification (especially for posts requiring Honours degree, specific percentage marks like 50% for Librarian, or CGPA conversion formula).
  • Choosing the wrong subject option for the Senior Economic Investigator technical paper in the Online Application Form - this choice is final and cannot be changed later.
  • Not entering the correct bank account details (Account Number, IFSC Code) in the Online Application Form for receiving the refundable examination fee of Rs. 500/-.

Important Instructions for OSSC CGLRE Specialist-2025 Recruitment 2026 Candidates

  • Appointment shall be on a regular basis carrying the level of pay as mentioned in the vacancy table; all posts are State Cadre posts and candidates may be asked to serve anywhere in Odisha.
  • Candidates must have the requisite qualification for the post on the last date of submission of the Online Application Form (11-07-2026). Special category candidates must also have the necessary supporting documents by this date.
  • Only one Online Application is allowed per candidate for any recruitment examination. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation of candidature and forfeiture of fee.
  • After final submission of the corrected/final Online Application, no change/correction/modification will be allowed under any circumstances - requests through post, fax, e-mail or in person shall be summarily rejected.
  • Candidates must write their Name, Date of Birth, Father's name and Mother's name exactly as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
  • Marks sharing: Marks obtained in Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Computer Skill Test are proposed to be shared with the candidate after final merit list is published.
  • Candidates who score more than the last selection mark at any tier/stage but are not qualified for the subsequent stage must represent to the Commission within 05 days of declaration of that result through e-mail [email protected].
  • Government servants (State/Central) or those working under PSUs/Government Universities/Autonomous Bodies must obtain and upload a "No Objection Certificate" from their controlling authority with the Online Application Form. If a standing order of NOC exists, the same should be uploaded. Candidates who hide their Govt. servant/PSU status during certificate verification may not be considered for recommendation.
