PSSSB Recruitment 2026 Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Warder (Male Only)
- Height: 5 feet 7 inches (5 feet 4½ inches for Dogras & Gurkhas)
- Chest: 33 inches (unexpanded) | 34½ inches (expanded)
- Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles). Must not be colour blind.
Matron (Female Only)
- Height: 5 feet 3 inches
- Weight: 50 kg and above
- Vision: Normal in both eyes (with or without spectacles). Must not be colour blind.

Note: Candidates must also possess knowledge of Punjabi language (Matriculation level or equivalent) as per Punjab Civil Services Rules, 1994.
Selection Process
Written Examination (Objective Type MCQ)
- Two parts: Part-A (Punjabi Language – Qualifying only, minimum 50% marks required)
- Part-B (Main paper – Merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Part-B only)
- Negative marking of ¼ mark for every wrong answer.
Merit List
- Prepared only on the basis of Part-B marks.
- In case of tie: Date of Birth (older candidate preferred) → Higher percentage in educational qualification → Matriculation marks.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Only candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for PMT & PET (in order of merit and category-wise vacancies).
Document Verification / Counseling
- Original documents and certificates will be verified.
- Final selection is subject to verification and medical fitness.
Important: Qualifying PMT/PET does not guarantee appointment. Final appointment depends on document verification and merit.
How to Apply
Apply only online through official website: https://sssb.punjab.gov.in
Registration Period: 01-04-2026 to 21-04-2026
Steps:
- Click on “Apply Online” → New users click “Registration”.
- Fill personal & educational details, upload passport-size photo + signature.
- Upload scanned copies of 10th certificate, educational certificates & other required documents.
- Pay application fee online.
- Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
Once submitted, no changes/corrections are allowed.
General Instructions for Candidates
- Category and Category Code filled in the online form cannot be changed later.
- Only Punjab domicile candidates are eligible for reservation benefits.
- Domicile/Residence Certificate (not older than 5 years) is mandatory for all candidates.
- All certificates (SC/BC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen/Sports/Freedom Fighter) must be as per Punjab Government instructions.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in written exam, PMT, PET or counseling.
- All updates (exam date, admit card, result, merit list) will be uploaded only on the official website https://sssb.punjab.gov.in. Candidates must keep checking the website regularly.
- No individual letters will be sent.
- Any false information or incomplete application will lead to rejection at any stage.
