Vacancy Details

*In the absence of eligible ST candidates, OBC candidates will be considered; in the absence of OBC candidates, UR will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential: 3 years Diploma in Engineering / Technology in Biomedical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Desirable experience: Product design, manufacturing, prototyping, 3D printing, machining, instrumentation, test systems, automation, calibration, quality system documentation, R&D / industrial / academic experience.
• Experience, wherever prescribed, must be gained after acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.

Salary / Stipend

• Monthly emoluments of Rs. 20,000/- plus 18% HRA for the Project Assistant post.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit is 50 years for the Project Assistant post as on 01 January 2026.

Selection Process

• Applications will be screened and eligible candidates will be called for an interview at the Biomedical Technology Wing, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012.
• Depending on the number of candidates, a qualifying written test may be conducted for initial screening; only qualified candidates will be called for interview.
• Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test or interview.

General Information / Instructions

• The post is under a DBT funded project “Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Devices” and is purely temporary.
• Initial appointment is for 6 months, likely to be extended up to 13.06.2029, subject to project needs.
• Eligible candidates must upload scanned copies of certificates for age, qualification, experience, and valid caste / non-creamy layer certificates in the prescribed Central Government format.
• Experience means experience gained after acquiring the essential qualification.
• The institute may conduct written test for screening and reserves the right regarding selection.
