TIFR Apprentice Stipend / Salary
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 18,500 per month during the apprenticeship period. Salary details beyond this stipend amount are not specified in the notification.
TIFR Apprentice Selection Process
Selection is based on a combination of academic performance and a written test:
- Final merit is calculated using 60% weightage for the aggregate marks obtained in the designated trade across all semesters, and 40% weightage for marks obtained in the written test.
- Only candidates scoring 60% and above in the final merit list will be considered for selection.
- The written test carries 50 marks and covers: Technical Acumen in the relevant discipline, Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Abilities, ITI syllabus, and Mathematical syllabus.
- Every apprentice who completes the training period must appear for the All India Trade Test conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trade to determine trade proficiency, after which a proficiency certificate is issued by the National Council.

- Take a printout of the online application form with a recent passport-size photograph affixed.

General Instructions
- Candidates may apply only for the designated trade mentioned in the vacancy table and must possess the ITI certificate in that same trade.
- Only fresh candidates will be considered for engagement; those who have already availed apprenticeship elsewhere will not be considered.
- The engagement is strictly under the Apprentices Act, 1961, is temporary for a period of one year, and is non-pensionable. Selected candidates will have no claim to any permanent or temporary appointment at TIFR, either during or after the training period.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in selection.
- Candidates must make their own arrangements for stay in Mumbai during the apprenticeship training period.
- TIFR reserves the right not to fill any or all of the posts advertised.
