Two Types of Admission: Verification with Counselling vs. Verification Only
This section explains an important distinction in the notice - not all shortlisted candidates go through the same process, and understanding which category applies to you avoids confusion on the verification day.
TNPSC has split admitted candidates into two separate procedures:
Posts Requiring Both Certificate Verification and Counselling
Candidates for JDO/Overseer/Junior Engineer and Surveyor & Junior Training Officer (Surveyor) posts are called for both Physical Certificate Verification and Counselling on 03.07.2026. Counselling for eligible candidates is conducted the same day, immediately after document verification.
Posts Requiring Certificate Verification Only (Date To Be Announced)
Candidates for Chemist Grade-I, Mines Surveyor, Assistant Manager (Mines), Junior Training Officer (Draughtsman Civil), Assistant Rubber Maker, and Junior Training Officer (Architectural Draughtsman) are called only for Physical Certificate Verification. The notice does not specify a confirmed date for this group yet - it will be announced later by the Commission.
Direct Verification Cases (Subject to Document Proof)
This section covers a small set of candidates admitted under a conditional category, which carries a stricter compliance requirement than the standard list.
A limited number of Register Numbers have been admitted for Direct Physical Certificate Verification and Counselling, or Direct Physical Certificate Verification, subject to producing the required documents in the prescribed format at the time of verification. If such a candidate fails to produce the necessary documents, or does not meet the eligibility criteria, their online application will be rejected, and their provisional admission will stand cancelled.
Admission Ratio for Counselling
This section clarifies how many candidates are called relative to available vacancies, which helps applicants understand their relative standing.
- General Category: Admitted in a 1:3 ratio (for posts requiring counselling)
- Reserved Categories: Admitted in a 1:2 ratio (for posts requiring counselling)

Important Notes for Candidates

- No postal communication will be sent. Updates are shared only via SMS and email to the registered mobile number/email ID, and through the Commission's website, Twitter, and Telegram channel. Candidates must monitor these regularly.
- Inclusion in the list does not guarantee selection. Final selection depends on vacancy availability in the respective reservation category and the candidate's rank position.
- Post choice is final. Once a candidate selects a post, Department/Board/Corporation, and Unit during counselling, it cannot be changed under any circumstances, and they will not be considered for any other post in the same notification.
- Absentees will be dropped. Candidates who do not attend on the scheduled date and time will not be considered for the next stage of selection.
- Provisional and subject to court orders. The entire admission process remains subject to the decision of the Commission and any pending orders from the Madras High Court / Madurai Bench relating to this recruitment.
- Candidates should watch the TNPSC website daily for vacancy updates, which are hosted at the end of counselling.
