UPSC ESE Mains Result 2026: Service-Wise Qualified Candidates
A total of 1,340 candidates have qualified for the Personality Test across four engineering services:

How to Check UPSC ESE Mains Result 2026
- Visit the official UPSC website: upsc.gov.in
- Go to the "What's New" section and click on "Written Result: Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2026".
- The result PDF will open, listing roll numbers and names service-wise.
- Use Ctrl+F to search your roll number in the PDF.
- Download and save the PDF for future reference.
Candidates can also access their marks-sheet later by keying in their Roll Number and Date of Birth, once it is uploaded after the final result (post Personality Test).
What Happens Next: Steps After the Written Result
1. Document Upload and Application Update Window
UPSC will provide a 15-day window, opening soon after the result declaration, during which qualified candidates must:
- Update their details and upload proof of the requisite qualifying examination on the specified portal.
- Update Correspondence/Postal Address, Higher Qualification, Achievements, Employment Details/Service Experience, Service Allocation, and Service Preferences.
Details updated during this window are treated as final. Requests for changes through any other mode will not be entertained.
2. Mandatory Login and Final Submission
All qualified candidates must mandatorily log in during this window and submit the Application Form, even if there is no new information to update, in order for UPSC to generate the e-summon letter. Failure to do this will mean candidates are not allowed to appear for the Personality Test.
3. Personality Test (Interview)
The schedule for the Personality Test is Not Yet Announced. The exact date will be intimated through the e-summon letter, downloadable from upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. A Roll Number-wise Interview Schedule will also be published on the website. No request for change in interview date/time will be entertained under any circumstances.
Documents Required at the Time of Personality Test
Candidates must carry original certificates/documents supporting their claims relating to:
- Age / Date of Birth
- Educational Qualifications
- Community Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), where applicable
- Benchmark Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates), where applicable
Candidature is provisional and subject to eligibility verification. Candidates who fail to produce required original documents will not be permitted to appear before the Personality Test Board, and no TA (travel allowance) will be admissible in such cases.
Important Instructions
- The result is provisional; final selection depends on document verification and Personality Test performance.
- Mobile phones are banned inside UPSC examination/interview premises.
- The marks-sheet of all candidates (qualified and non-qualified) will be uploaded on the UPSC website only after the final result is declared (post Personality Test), and will remain available for 30 days.
- Candidates wanting a printed/hard copy of the marks-sheet must send a request with a self-addressed stamped envelope within 30 days of the marks being displayed online.
