Candidates must hold the essential educational qualification prescribed under the Uttar Pradesh Vidhi Vigyan Prayogshala Araajpatrit (Praviधik) Seva Niyamavali, 2016, and must have appeared in PET-2025 with a valid, non-zero and non-negative score in at least one domain.
UPSSSC Scientific Assistant Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a qualification in one of the following four domains:
- Biology Domain: B.Sc. in Biological Science / Forensic Science with specialization in Biological Science, Biotechnology, Bio Chemistry, Genetics, Cell Biology, or Microbiology from a recognized university/institute.
- Physical Science Domain: B.Sc. in Physical Science / Forensic Science with specialization in Physical Science, Nuclear Science, Instrumentation, or Electronics; OR B.Tech in Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
- Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. in Chemistry / Forensic Science with specialization in Chemistry or Bio Chemistry from a recognized university/institute.

UPSSSC Forensic Science Laboratory Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection is made purely on the basis of the Main (written) Examination. Shortlisting of candidates for the Main Examination is done using the normalized PET-2025 score, category-wise, at 15 times the number of advertised vacancies (including all candidates scoring at or above the final normalized cut-off up to two decimal places). Candidates with a zero or negative actual/normalized PET-2025 score will not be shortlisted.
The written examination will consist of a single question paper of 100 objective-type, multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes). Each question carries 1 mark, and there is a negative marking of 25% (1/4 mark) for each wrong answer.

UPSSSC Forensic Science Laboratory Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
- Only candidates who possessed the required essential eligibility (educational qualification) and fell within the prescribed age limit, and who appeared in PET-2025 with a valid, positive normalized score, can apply.
- Candidates must select (tick) the specific post(s) they wish to apply for; failure to do so means their claim for that post will not be accepted.
- EWS category applicants must obtain their EWS certificate, valid for financial year 2026-27, based on financial year 2025-26 income, issued between 1 April 2026 and 17 August 2026 (application last date).
- Applicants claiming Divyangjan reservation must ensure their disability certificate correctly and clearly states the category/sub-category and percentage of disability, as per applicable Uttar Pradesh government orders.
- Only one application is permitted for the advertised posts; if a candidate applies more than once, only the last submitted application will be accepted.
