UPSSSC Special Education Teacher Recruitment 2026 Overview
Intermediate or equivalent from Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad UP or recognized board.
Diploma in Special Education (Intellectual Disability/Mental Retardation) from RCI-recognized institution.
Registration with RCI as specialist teacher for mentally underdeveloped.
Desirable (All Posts):
Served in Territorial Army for a minimum of 02 years, OR
Obtained 'B' certificate of National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Only those candidates who appeared in Prarambhik Aharta Pariksha-2025 (PET-2025) and have been issued Score Card by the Commission are eligible to apply for the Main Exam.
Candidates must possess all required mandatory educational qualifications by the last date of application i.e., 27-04-2026.
Pay is applicable as per Uttar Pradesh Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Vibhag Adhyapak Seva Niyamavali, 2000 (as amended up to 4th Amendment 2022).

Selection Process
Stage 1 – Written Examination (Main Exam):
One question paper containing 100 objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
Total duration: 120 Minutes (Two Hours).
Each question carries 1 mark. Negative marking: 25% (i.e., ¼ of the mark prescribed for each wrong answer).
Exam Plan:
Part-1: Introduction to Disability (25 Marks) + Child Development & Learning (20 Marks) + Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (20 Marks)
Part-2: Knowledge of Concepts of Computer and IT and Contemporary Technological Development (15 Marks)
Part-3: General Information related to the State of Uttar Pradesh (20 Marks)
Total: 100 Questions – 100 Marks
Shortlisting for Written Exam will be based on normalized score of PET-2025 (15 times the number of advertised posts).
Stage 2 – Qualifying Exam (Skill Test):
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of written exam marks will appear for Sign Language and Braille Script Proficiency Test (qualifying in nature).
For posts where Sign Language/Braille Script knowledge is not required in eligibility criteria, selection will be based on written exam only.
Sign Language Proficiency Test:
Component 1: Text to Sign Language Conversion – More than 20 functional words; 8 minutes; qualifying: minimum 10 functional words correctly converted.
Component 2: Sign Language to Text Conversion – More than 20 functional words; 8 minutes; qualifying: minimum 10 functional words correctly converted.
Braille Script Proficiency Test:
Component 1: Text to Braille Script Writing – 150–200 Hindi words; 10 minutes; qualifying: minimum 60 words accurately written in Braille.
Component 2: Braille Script to Text Writing – 80–100 Hindi words; 10 minutes; qualifying: minimum 40 words read and written accurately.
How to Apply
Application must be submitted ONLY through the Online Application System on the Commission's website upsssc.gov.in. Applications submitted through any other means will not be accepted.
Visit the Homepage of upsssc.gov.in and click on the relevant advertisement under the Live Advertisement Segment to download/view the notification.
Candidates must login using their PET-2025 Registration Number along with the OTP sent to their registered mobile number/email.
After login, personal details pre-filled from PET-2025 registration will be displayed. Candidates must verify and select the posts they wish to apply for.
Select the post(s), fill in qualification details (Board/University name, pass year, certificate/roll number, issue date, marks details), and proceed.
Photo and signature uploaded during PET-2025 will be auto-displayed. No changes can be made to these.
Fill in post preference and additional qualification details in the "Other Details" section.
Enter the Verification Code displayed on the Registration Page and click the "Submit" button.
Pay the prescribed fee using Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI / SBI e-Challan before the last date (27-04-2026).
After successful fee payment/reconciliation, the application form will be auto-submitted and displayed on screen. Candidates must download and print the application form.
Application correction is permitted up to 04-05-2026 for fields like correspondence address, EWS/OBC category, gender, disability category, and marital status.
