AP TET Syllabus - AP TET Exam Syllabus: Government of Andhra Pradesh is going to be conducting Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test , in name of AP TET. The candidates who intend to be Teacher for classes 1 to 8 in Government or private schools in Andhra Pradesh for appearance at Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test-AP TET to be conducted by Department of school education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
1. In accordance with the provisions of sub section (1) of section 23 of the right to education act, 2009 the national council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide its notification dates 23rd August, 2010, laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes 1 to 8.
2. The essential qualifications for as a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act, is that candidates should pass the teacher eligibility test-TET, which will be conducted by the appropriate government in accordance with the guidelines followed by the NCTE.
3. The AP TET will be conducted in 2 papers, paper I and paper II. The candidates, who intend to be teachers for classes 1 to 5, have to appear at paper I.
4. The candidates going to be teachers for classes 6 to 8 have to appear for paper II.
5. The candidates who intend to be teacher for all classes from 1 to 8 have to appear for both papers, paper I and paper II.

Structure and Content of AP TET:
1. All questions in AP TET will be multiple choice questions, each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marks.
2. There will be two papers of AP TET
a) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5.
b) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes 6 to 8.
3. Candidates who intend to be a teacher for both levels that means classes 1 to 5 and classes 6 to 8 will have to appear in both the papers, paper I and paper II.
4. Paper I for classes 1 to 5: No. of multiple choice questions are 150 and the examination duration is 2 1/2 hours.
Paper 1 – Structure and Content (All Compulsory):
a) Child Development and Pedagogy: No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
b) Language I: No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
c) Language II (English): No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
d) Mathematics: No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
e) Environmental Studies: No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
Paper 2 – Structure and content:
a) Child Development and Pedagogy: No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
b) Language I: No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
c) Language II (English): No. of multiple choice questions are 30, total marks given is 30 marks.
d) Mathematics and Science (OR) Social Studies): No. of multiple choice questions 60, total marks given is 60 marks.
Note 1: For paper II Mathematics and Science section questions: Total marks is 60 marks
Mathematics – 30 multiple choice questions.
Physical Science – 14 multiple choice questions.
Biological Science – 16 multiple choice questions.
Note 2: For paper II Social Studies portion the syllabus will cover the section namely history, geography, civics and economics, there are 60 marks are given.
History and Civics – 30 multiple choice questions.
Geography and Economics – 30 multiple choice questions.
Pass marks in Teacher Eligibility Test-TET: Results will be declared with in 30 days from the date of conduct of test. Candidates who secure the minimum marks will be declared pass in TET is 60% marks and above of OC candidates, 50% marks and above for BC candidates and 40% marks and above for SC-ST-PH candidates.
