There was a news item in Sakshi Newspaper yesterday (dated 25th February, 2011) saying that there might be another supplementary notification for Group 1 for 50 additional posts. They also predicted that the notification will be released by the APPSC in a month. There will be a new Preliminary Exam to short list the candidates for these 50 posts (that means another 2500 candidates will have the chance to go to mains). Don’t worry … All those who have been selected for the mains already need not write the Prelims again.

So if this is true, then all those who have already cleared the Prelims will have a LOT of time to prepare for the Mains. A lot of time infact that you might even forget that you have to prepare for the Mains !!! And those who could not clear the Prelims a few months back, will have another good opportunity to clear it this time.

Let us see how the probable time table would be.

If Supplementary notification comes in a month, it will be in March last week or April first week. From then onwards, for application process and issuing hall tickets, at least one month time will be given. So the last date of application might be one month from there that is May first week. Prelims might be conducted one month (or 45 days) after the last date of application. So Prelims might be in June (first Sunday after reopening of the Schools). Then results will be declared 30 to 45 days from then. So it will be around July last week.

Then a combined Mains will be conducted for the 10,500 candidates already selected and 2500 candidates who will be selected by the new Prelims exam. It might be 45 to 60 days after the results of the Prelims. So, it is likely that the Mains exam will be in September or October 2011. Remember that this only happens if everything goes according to plan. If there is any disturbance in between, then ….
