General Information/Instructions
- Reservation benefits will be granted only according to the prevailing reservation rules of the State Government and based on certificates issued by the competent authority of the State Government.
- Failure to claim reservation in the application form will result in the denial of reservation benefits.
- Reservation based on caste will be applicable only to candidates who are domiciled in Bihar. The permanent address provided in the application will be considered as the permanent residence for the purpose of reservation.
- Candidates from reservation categories outside the state will be considered as unreserved (general) category candidates.
- A 35% horizontal reservation will be applicable only to women who are domiciled in the state (including both reserved and unreserved categories).
- A 2% horizontal reservation will be applicable to the grandsons/granddaughters/grandsons/granddaughters of freedom fighters of the state who are receiving a pension from the Central Government.
- Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) reservation categories must submit a caste certificate and a permanent residence/domicile certificate in the prescribed format.
- Candidates belonging to the Backward Class (BC) and Extremely Backward Class (EBC) reservation categories must submit a caste certificate and a permanent residence certificate along with a Non-Creamy Layer certificate.
- The provisions of the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services and Admission in Educational Institutions (for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2019 will be applicable.
- The provisions for reservation for persons with disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (Act 49 of 2016) will not be applicable to the recruitment of 'Constables' (General Duty Cadre) in the Special Branch, Bihar.
