Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

• Three Years Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Three Years Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Three Years Diploma in Computer Engineering / Information Technology or equivalent
• Three Years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning/ Mechanic Ref. & Air conditioning/ Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in any Science discipline
• Graduation in any discipline
• Three Years Full-time Diploma in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education Established by a State Government/University/Institutions in relevant discipline.
• Full Time Graduate degree (Non-Engineering) granted by a recognized University/Institutions in relevant discipline.

Experience: Candidates should not have experience of one year or more in any job.

Salary / Stipend

• Rs. 8,000/- pm
• Rs. 9,000/- pm

Age Limit (as on 08-01-2026)

• Technician/Technician: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years for Technician/Diploma Apprentices as on date of interview.
• Graduate/Degree: Minimum 21 years and maximum 26 years for Graduate/Degree Apprentices as on date of interview.
• Relaxation: Relaxation in upper age limit as per GOI guidelines by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL) subject to the production of a relevant certificate in the prescribed format of GOI signed by the competent authority. Candidates belonging to PWD category shall be given age relaxation upto 10 years (upto 15 years for SC/ST and upto 13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates.
• Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit is relaxable as per the extant rules as applicable from time to time.

• If number of candidates are more, the Selection Committee shall adopt its own criteria and conduct a written examination and shortlist the candidates for personal interview in proportionate to the available vacancies.

General Information / Instructions

1. Date & Time of Walk-in-Interview: (Reporting Time: 09.00 AM). The candidate reporting after 10.00 AM will not be entertained. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
2. Candidates have to submit their duly filled-in application form given at the end of this advertisement along with original certificates for verification and self-attested copies of education qualification certificates, relevant mark sheets, proof of date of birth (copy of SSLC/HSC/Birth certificate/any other proof), Aadhaar Card, community/category certificate (if applicable), a passport-size photograph at the time of interview.
3. Candidates should have their valid Aadhaar Number and NATS enrollment number.
4. The original documents including educational qualification, Birth/SSLC certificate, community and other certificates in respect of selected candidate will be verified at the time of walk-in-interview. Your joining at CSIR-NIO as apprenticeship trainee is subject to verification of certificates.
5. Candidates should ensure that they submit all the documents mentioned above. In the event of failure to submit any of the required documents as mentioned above at the time of walk-in-interview, their candidature will not be considered.
6. Hostel Accommodation will not be provided for the trainees. Selected candidates will have to make their own arrangements for stay after joining for the training.
7. On successful completion of training, the apprenticeship trainees will be awarded National Apprenticeship Certificate by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)/ BOAT.
8. Any corrigendum/addendum or updates with regard to this advertisement shall be made available on our website https://www.nio.res.in/ only.

10. The applicant's candidature would be provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates and testimonials. In case, it is detected at any stage of engagement or thereafter, that a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/ doctored/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcomings is/are detected even after engagement if any, his/her engagement is liable to be terminated.
11. The decision of the Director, CSIR-NIO, Goa will be final and binding on all candidates and on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, mode of selection, cancellation of the selection process either in part or full, etc. No correspondence/ Interim queries will be entertained in this regard. Filling up of the seats is solely at the discretion of the Director, CSIR-NIO, Goa based on suitability of candidates and no claim will arise for engagement, if some of these seats are not filled due to unsuitability/ insufficient number of candidates.
12. Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period CSIR-NIO shall have NO obligation to offer employment to such apprentices nor can an Apprentice claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship.
13. Canvassing in any form and /or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification.
